Poll

What is your opinion regarding the extra card w/credits?

Regular backs on both, credits on one in small print, AC ad on the other.
Credits on both sides of one in medium-sized print, AC ad on the other with regular back.
Credits on three sides in regular print, AC ad on the fourth.
I really couldn't give a flying fig and have no opinion - do what thou wilst.
I want something different, and I'll describe it in a post below...

Great work Nathan! Very helpful! I'd LOVE to make the ace of spades because the idea intrigues me. I do however only have 4 signatures. Lets say 5... including mine.

Hey Lara, here's what I ended up with for your TWO of Diamonds. Hope you like it!
I added a little detail in the flower petals and a few thorns for fun.

thanks, Randy

Randy...... THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!  Its almost as I envisioned it but you added more beautiful things!!!!!  ****insert meme puking rainbow here *****

Beautiful!
Though I have to confess, it's not THAT clear it's the 2 of diamonds at first sight.

I was kinda contemplating on that bit when I was brainstorming for ideas for this design, but I said, "Well.... The pips will do their job in identifying it." LoL!

@NathanCanadas  your compilation of the progression of all the art works submitted makes me want to have 2 kinds of uncut sheets for this deck LoL! hahahahah! The final uncut sheet and a special draft art uncut sheet LoL! Thanks for keeping track of the progress BTW. Also I will try to update "The Evolution of Aetheria" sometime this weekend when I don't have work.

oh and to the people who are wondering why I password protected the blog post. Its just to make sure that the only people who know about it for now are us, the Aetherians and the lurkers who are patient enough to read through pages and pages of discussions. ^_^ Of course in the long run we want to protect our artwork too right?

Opps!!! Okay I will send my signature to you most probably by tmr. Let me know if you didn't receive it :)

just one question here. If we would to produce the cards with the AOS having our signature, wouldn't it be possible for person to scan the AOS into the computer and use our signatures? (I had never use debit/credit card before so... I'm not sure about how it works, sorry if I'm asking a noob question)

Just sign your name or your signature or whatever on a piece of paper (any color combination works as long as it is legible) and take a picture of it or scan it and send it to DerkPhotography@gmail.com

Your signature will be about a centimeter big, theres no way anyone will be able to read it well let alone track you down, steal your credit card, and then use that signature. Don't worry bout it  ;) ;)

That looks really nice but there really needs to be indices in the corners to tell us what card it is. But great work!

Will the autographs look like random scribbles? If so that'd look very weird, and although it might look nice, I see it looking messy and unorganized.

As long as they are proportionate, it will look fine, but as long as you don't force and stretch out or make it pixelized it will look fine.

Wow two days of silence on this thread.
I'm sorry i haven't found enough time to really sit down and do the rest of the twos. But I am going to work on it. I promise. ^_^ ps @Randy you are really amazing... I just wanted to say that again hahahah!

Anyway,

GUYS dont forget to send in your signatures, if ya'll are being cautious about sending in your real siggys that you use for bank stuff and what-not, you can just use a different siggy. I used my Chinese one since I have never used that besides signing papers here in Beijing for class LoL :P

we have to keep going at this.

I think they shouldn't be in your face obvious at first glance. All of the cards will have the corner pips and indices so that will make them cohesive and recognizeable to each individual card. A good example is the collaborative VS Deck referenced earlier by Ncyclopedia:

http://versusillustration.co.uk/

The artwork for most of the cards don't have much to do with their suit/denomination.
A lot of them don't even have suits in the artwork, except for the corner pips and indices!

thank,
Radny

I agree with Radny ;) 's point. The indicies are easy to read and will give the player/magician/spectator a goof idea of what the card is.

I actually think the 2oD is perfect as it is: it seams simple, yet very elegant!

I just discovered another collaborative deck that's in development. No word on when this will be released:
http://creativecards.cc/

And while this site isn't new (they've produced 3 decks already), it's a great example of how the faces do not have to be strongly associated with the value or the suit:

I just came here and it's impossible to read all 44 pages.
So, may I ask briefly : is the deck going to be printed?
Which process it's currently in?
And any pics of the decks?

Yes, the deck will be printed if we get the funding and if we complete it. Possibly through Rajas if we like what he has to offer.
The deck is currently in the process of designing.
All you need to do is read the previous page (page 43) and read my posts. They have all the pictures, people in the project, ideas, cards done, updates, etc.
You can also check out Krystle's blog with info regularly updated:

Ok. If everyone is okay with this, I am putting a deadline.
We need all cards to be assigned by Monday 19th of March 2011. And every single card should have at least one rough draft by 1 month from then, the 19th of April. That means that if everyone makes 1 draft per card they own, we should be close to being done by mid-April.
