Thanks for all the nice welcomes. Seems like a nice, busy forum. Unitedcardists does seem to have gone a bit quiet lately. I still visit there to see what's going on.
@ Alex decknique was a cool place to go back in the day. I guess they started the whole flourishing/collecting forum thing off. It was a sad day when decknique finished. I wasn't a poster there. I didn't really feel like I had anything constructive to say but I viewed a lot of the tutorial videos and read the boards daily. I think it shut down purely because the admin & people who ran the site couldn't commit the time & money to keep it going. Almost immediately unitedcardists was started so most people went there. There was a roumor that the buck twins had something to do with decknique, although I cannot say if this was true.
With regards to the comments about my collection of decks. Yes 500+ is a reasonably large number of decks to have. I wish every deck was different but it isn't. I do have the odd brick or 2 of particular decks that I like. I also dip into these supplies to do trades with others for decks I don't have.
Some favourite decks that I own would have to be....
My golden nuggets, all of them. I have sealed decks, opened & cancelled but I really like there back designs & colours.
White centurion. Mainly because Igot it for free by hastling t11 about the fact that I had no chance of getting it due to the stupid release times (4am in the uk!)
The smoke and mirror v1-3 decks. Like the design and feel.
Magic con deck. Simple but nice. Nothing special but glad to have some.
All the David Blaine decks. The white lions in my opinion are the nicest handling deck I've had recently. To begin with i wasn't sure about them but when broken in they are great. They take a fair amount of punishment aswell!
I like all the decks I own for different reasons. Friars club and LVC are both nice because there a little bit of history but in terms of using them they are not the best decks to handle. Massa deck would have to be the biggest disappointment. Everyone went crazy for them for a while but there terrible ow you can pick them up for pence!
Man. When I think about the decks I own it's scary. Gargoyles, LTD, loads of different bikes & tallies (can't beat the tallies!!) ellusionist decks, t11 decks, d&d, crowns, CARC, wynns, too many to list!!!
I wish I had more vinage decks to be honest. I've got some old tax stamp bikes but that's about it for the really old stuff.
I'd love to post some pictures of my collection but there all stacked away. I need to get them out at some point to do a thorough inventory. Maybe I'll take some pics then.
And that concludes my longest ever post on a forum, ever. Sorry if I bored anyone!
