Haven't used their forums.  They invited me to their first anniversary party Thursday, so I can't exactly call them unfriendly...

A couple weeks ago, I got 3 of their decks, one of each crown deck v2. My green one was damaged. I contacted them telling them about this, and they didn't reply.

That's odd. I've contacted them before about shipping and they replied within two days.

Had the same problem with BC, ordered two downloads off them. Niether would play, I've ordered many downloads off other magic sites and have never had a problem with them. I contacted BC twice and they never responded to either e-mails. I for one won't order from them again.

Their forums are dead. I am not sure why other people are trying to push a successful forum onto the community, because they just don't work. Aside from E and the Magic Cafe, I can't think of a single good card/magic related place. UC was amazing until it was left for dead, and The Discourse is really under the radar as far as forums go despite our activity.

T11, for example, has a terrible and awful community and on top of that they're lucky if they get 50 posts per day.

I was contacting them about a defective Red Crown v1.  After they invited me to the party, they asked for my order number.  I replied that I didn't have one, but they haven't replied yet.

The biggest problem they're having with their customer service is that they're a small operation.  I believe that the "headquarters/office" is Alex Pandrea's private apartment, and it was probably their "warehouse" until they got a decent facility in New Jersey.  They mean well, and they're very kind when you can reach them, but they're a little overwhelmed.

Have you tried calling the telephone number at the bottom of their web pages?  I could be wrong, but I think it's Alex's cellphone.  The area code the number is in is reserved for New York City cellphones and mobile devices.

Phone calls in New York are a pain - there's at least five area codes, most of which are overlapping, and every call you make, even to someone in your area code, requires that you dial the full number, with a "1" at the beginning if you're using a landline.  For us, EVERYBODY'S got a ten-digit phone number!

Correction: as of April 6th last year, we're up to SIX area codes!  There's 212, 718, 917, 646, 347 and 929, listed in chronological order of when they were created.  Interestingly enough, my cellphone's area code, 646, somehow got "zoned" as a number exclusive to Manhattan, despite never having lived there - the decent housing is expensive, the cheap housing isn't decent.  But yeah, area codes are a mess here.  When I was a kid, it was all 212, that was it, nothing more.  I think we now have the most area codes of any single city in the country.  LA has six also, but it's "the Greater LA area" so it includes the 'burbs as well, while the six NYC codes are all within the borders of NYC alone.

Looking forward to seeing what they have in store. EST times are so awkward here in UK though. 8pm EST for the 'big announcement' isn't too bad though.

So, I saw Alex last night (Thursday) at the Blue Crown anniversary party, walked up to introduce myself and before I even got my name out of my mouth he knew who I was, gave me a replacement Red Crown v1 deck, looked at the defective deck and told me of a cool card trick I could do with the defective card (he let me keep the defective deck).

How did he recognize me?  I was dressed very similar to my profile photos, same fedora hat, same trenchcoat!  It was raining last night.  With Kevin it took him a moment or two longer to recognize me once I said hi, but recognize me he did!  ("What would I do without the Discourse?"  :)))

That party was such a great time.  I laughed for a good percentage of the time after the performances started - the performers had already been to the bar once or twice, y'see...  The biggest laugh was when one person would perform a trick and one of his fellow magicians would speak the performer's "internal monologue" into the microphone!  It happened a few times, totally hysterical.

The Facebook page announced three new releases for the actual anniversary date of March 8th.  It's a very good possibility that one of them will be the new deck I snapped photos of and posted here.  But keep watching their website as well as FB - Kevin mentioned some changes they'll be making soon, adding features that you guys may enjoy.  I did the same as I did the night I met David Blaine - I offered to lend a hand and gave him my number (written in Sharpie on a casino deck of cards I handed him)!  I'm hoping they'll give me a ring back.

I just cam e along and read about the BC service.
The reply very late when it was the black friday sales.
I ordered 4 decks of each color but they sent me 10 decks.
However, after I contact them.
They did sent me 2 decks replacement after they replied my email.

About their forum, it's not that active but I'm also being there from time to time.
Sometimes there is some news at the forum that doesn't posted anywhere else.
Magiccafe is too big for me to find what I want.
Mostly I use google to find what's in the website.

Hey everyone!  I normally only stay in the card-specific area of this forum, I don't venture into other sections very often.

I apologize for any customer service requests that have not been responded to in the past.  It's true that we're a small operation with a small but dedicated team.  We have recently made some internal changes, and the support system is working better than ever.

The vast majority of emails are now answered in 12 hours or less, and very few take over 24 hours.  It's true that we sometimes get a little backlogged during big product launches and events, but we do our best to get back to everyone quickly!

We want to offer the best customer service and support that we can!  Feel free to contact us with any issues at info@thebluecrown.com and we'll get back with you ASAP!

Personally I like the looks of Monet and the AP Spread Control, but I find T.O.P. very suspicious looking, even to spectators. And I'm pretty sure I know how it works.
