In all honesty, how do these handle? I have always had issues with the handling and clumping of plastic cards (of course, since they are plastic), but you said some of your finishes allowed plastic cards to handle almost as well as a bike deck. Is this the case for this deck?

The cards feel and fan almost the same way as the paper cards. This happens because of the finish and since the cards are given a unique texture on faces whereas the card backs are smooth.
It is very easy to spread the cards, do bottom deals, second deals etc. and since it is plastic they faro throughout their life leaving no torn or bent edges.
The finish used has to last longer since the cards will be used for professional games.

If I wanted a sample deck of your stock/finish of a plastic deck that would be comparable to this deck.. how would I go about that?

In the world of plastic playing cards, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the cheap crap that lesser cards are made of, like the clear plastic Bicycle decks, and the uber-cheap dollar store plastic decks.

QUALITY playing cards are made of cellulose acetate - it's the same stuff used by KEM/USPC.  I believe it's also the same as what was used in the Bicycle Prestige decks as well as the Karnival Death Heads.

Sidebar: It's a common misconception that the Prestige decks were made by USPC's KEM division.  The boxes are marked "made in Spain" and were produced, like the Death Heads, by Fournier out of Vitoria, Spain.

Wow that is really interesting! And Congratulations on this run. I'm really curious to see if plastic decks with this said finish does really come close to paper decks. in any case

@CBJ - If you get some sample do let us know how it fares

Is it possible to make transparent cards from the cellulose acetate?

Not to the best of my knowledge, no.  You can make other plastics clear for playing cards, however.  I think most of the clear decks I've seen were made on PVC, but don't quote me on that.

That deck does look pretty sweet! Does it consistently handle that well or is it like most other plastic decks and can't fan or spread after some use?

Brahma cant sale these decks since we dont have rights for the same.
I have suggested IPF to go for retail sales and they might take out 1-2 gross with my estimate of around $15 per deck.

Nathan, it does and should handle well since it is not lightly coated instead it has a thick UV coat.
They are used on poker tables where dealer does some flourishes like card spread etc frequently.
All in all they should last really long.
