They said that this deck will not be plastic cards like the Black Death Heads and will be on Bicycle Stock. :D
But  apparently the pips will be standard Bicycle. :(

I like the type of red used on the box. It fits the theme very well IMO. II would like them to come up with a completely new design though rather than just recolor a previous one.
CBJ or anyone else, can you please make a list of the decks they have released or are planning to release?

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

The Karnival Death Heads: Carnage Edition will be released on Thu 27 Sept 2012 and Big Blind Media are taking orders now.  Despite the box coloring, the backs will be IDENTICAL to the plastic Death Heads and the cards will be on Bicycle stock.  While it's not stated, it's a safe bet this deck won't have the Fournier faces/pips of the plastic deck.  No word on whether they're using jumbo indices (not my favorite feature of the deck) or whether they're going with standard index; if I was placing a bet, I'd say standard index, Bicycle faces/pips, in line with most of the Karnival decks, particularly the first five designs and the Karnival Hornets.

Since it's in pre-order, I'm pulling it from the NDR - it's practically in release.

BTW: BBM did a MASSIVE redesign to the website.  While I can't confirm this yet, it looks like they're no longer taking orders in any currency other than pounds sterling.  The new site is practically generic compared to the old one - well-organized, but dull as dishwater, right down to the grey backgrounds.

EDIT: I stand corrected - there's a pulldown menu in the upper right for selecting GBP, US$ or euros.

EDIT DEUX: I reverse my correction.  While you can display prices and shipping in any of the three currencies, payment is done through PayPal and appears there only in GBP.  It's better to use a linked checking account if you aren't in Britain - debit and credit card charges will cost extra due to currency conversion fees.

I got two of these decks a couple of days ago. the red on the back of the box is quite vibrant but I was disappointed that the card backs are just black and white. Custom Jokers and Aos but standard court cards and faces.

Still a nice handling deck though.

Advance copies, or is it already in stores where you are?

Custom faces aren't always required.  Plus, it's not exactly like they've been shy in the past several months with custom deckery...  Dead Eyes, Dose and Dose Redux, all thoroughly custom.  The two Death Heads designs and the Hornets released in-between are "minimally customized", but so what?  The custom jobs overshadowed them big-time, making a huge impression on collectors.

I'm in the UK it just said on the website they were available for preorder so I ordered a couple of decks, I honestly didn't expect them to turn up as soon as they did!
Same thing happened with the Inferno deck, Maybe they just like me LOL!

I think we are getting spoilt with all the fully custom decks that have been released over the last year or so, there was a time when fully custom was rare yet somehow its now come to be what we expect.
