Thanks to Robert Butler for pointing this out for me

A new deck has shown up on Kickstarter, and it has it's own web address...

the way they set up the rewards is horrible IMO. The first 3 tiers all have the same reward I can spen $8, $10, or $12 for one deck. Plus the reward of 10 decks is more expensive the the cheapest one deck, thus back when the $8 was open i would not have gotten the big reward.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

looks great except for the rather horrible photo graphic elements on the court cards. The spot cards all look really nice, the back is pretty cool too. Some custom drawn figures in place of the bad chop jobs would bring that deck up to a superb level.

There is logic to that. Early adopters get the lower price, people who come in later have to spend a little more. I had to setup new rewards midway through to accommodate that situation for people that just wanted a deck or two.

There are some things I like about this deck and some things I don't like.
The back design is ok in my opinion but I don't really like it.
The court cards are very ugly.
The number cards are awesome and I really like them!

looks like lots of work put into it. Although it isn't a deck for me.
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

I think the Tuck box cover is the strongest element, the colors and art are great!
The Back design is really nice, but too bad it's only 1-Color. I think if they
added some highlights of the Blue and Yellow/Gold colors from the Tuck into the
Back design they would really make it "pop" and take it to the next level.

I'm not a big fan of the blueish Court images either, but I can see why
they went with it to mimic the style of photos in that era. Maybe just getting
rid of the blueish tint would do wonders for them? The photos on the Back
design are without the blue tint and they look great compared to the Courts.

The PIPS have great details as well. Too bad they didn't go all the way with
their theme and have the Clubs and Spades in the blue from the Tuck front
and have the Hearts and Diamonds in the Yellow/Gold from the Tuck front!

That's just my opinion. I'll still back it in a day or two.

thanks, Randy

I have totally the same viewpoint as Evan, so aspects I love and others not so much. I'm very edgy on this deck, but I will love to see where it goes. I'll keep a close eye on it!

there is Nikola Tesla and someone else, don't know who.
who are the person that feature on the court cards?

Here's a quote straight from the link:

"One of the ways we tried to tell the story of the 'War of Currents', through our imagery, is the process we took designing our face cards.  First we split our two inventors, Edison and Tesla into Red and Black.  Then we split the suits into different ages.   So for example, older Nikola Tesla is on the King of Spades, while younger Nikola Tesla is on the King of Clubs."

"We then placed an important person in the inventor's life as the Queen and Jack.  As people's relationships change as they get older, so did our cards.  When the inventors were younger, they worked along side each other.  This means that you will find one red Tesla card and one black Edison card in your pack!"
"The word impossible is reserved for those without an imagination." - Arvind

I have to say... Somewhat interested... I like where they are going with the concept...
edit: on second look... really interested... The backs are bangin' and the face cards are quite unique... The art is not overwhelming... Class Act.. I'm in...

Love the pips and back design. Hate the court cards. I'll probably fund these closer to the end.

I'm guessing that you didn't really read the copy on the home page for this project, did you?  The other guy whom you can't identify is the Wizard of Menlo Park himself, Thomas Alva Edison.  He eventually won the War of the Currents, after there was many bouts of mudslinging between the two.  Alternating current could be distributed over a further distance than direct and (if you're to believe Edison, chief proponent of alternating current) was much safer than direct current.

I'm in on this for three decks.  I really like the theme.

EDIT: I got that wrong - Edison backed direct current, Tesla backed alternating current.

Love the design on this deck! But let me say...the 1st thing I thought of when I glanced at the back design was the ease with which this deck could be marked. The design in the upper left hand corner on the backs reminds me of the Deland's Deck. Basically what I'm getting at....For anyone who actually uses their decks in magic or what not....this could be easily converted as a really good marked deck!

They did it, 1 dollar to much, should be enough to produce a new deck! :D

I congratulate them on the funding! The deck is very detailed, and I think it deserved it. Has anyone referred them to the forums yet?
