I've noticed that most of the card related fields are dominated by the younger folks. I guess that when I was kid I had a lot more time to devote to stuff like learning tricks and cardistry (though of course, way back then there was no cardistry as we know it today). Just wish I'd followed up on my interest then.

When you are married, have two kids, full time job and freelance on the side it gets a lot harder to sit there for hours figuring out how to do a Sybil.

True, but there are always down times in life, even if you go weeks without having them. Practice while you watch TV. Heck, practice when you take your kids to the movies. Practice while you cook. Whenever you walk by a deck, pick it up, do one or two flourishes, and set it back down again.

By no means is it easy, but nothing is impossible.

It's funny how the web is dominated by the "younger" folk (25 and under) but I honestly believe that the vast majority of magicians (not just professionals), card manipulators, and card enthusiasts are well over the age of 30.

I'm 19 and I honestly feel like more of an adult than most people I know who have already graduated college and gotten careers.

When compared to yourself, the older version is always better. Honestly though, have you seen some of these people? When I remember who I was at 14 I can honestly say I was a better human being in every sense of the word than at least some of the people I have a displeasure of knowing who are 20-30.

Some 13 year olds act 30, and some 30 year olds act 13 (see: man who baked baby in oven to teach it a lesson).

Wow... that's kinda implying (well, outright stating) that intentionally cooking a baby is something a regular 13 year old would do. Maybe some of the 13 year olds here wouldn't like that?

Ha! Nice catch - I meant to imply that some 30 year olds act worse than any 13 year old could. The cooking baby thing is an actual recent news story.

Yeah, it was a popular urban myth but I checked it on snopes and it's sadly happened more than once

Wow, a lot of teenagers here. I feel old, all of a sudden (I'm 24). Luckily I can sometimes be a tad immature so it balances out.
