they are open, but i barely use them, i prefer not to use trick decks, most of my spectators want to check the deck out, and they always look for markings.

First, stripper decks don't have markings.  I let my spectators examine them all the time and no one's ever guessed there was anything special about them.

Second, with a little roughing spray, you can convert the Svengali deck into a Mirage deck.  It gives you a lot more options, none of which have anything to do with unique marks on the card backs.  And by itself, unaltered, the Svengali is an excellent forcing deck.  There's no need to do the straight-up bit of "draw a card, it's now on top, now they're all your card".

Third, the marked deck is good quality for the price - that's doesn't mean it's the best marked deck ever.  If you want top-notch, you can shell out for the new Maiden Back Gambler's Deck, or snap up the Ultimate Marked Deck before they disappear - I bought mine for around $30, and now that USPC has banned altered Rider Backs, these out-of-print decks are selling closer to $40 in some shops.  That's like the Rolls Royce of marked decks, short of any that use juice, dabs, UV ink, etc.

Well they are a stripper and a svengali deck... They're really not that hard to use. You should look up a tutorial or something online if you have no clue.

Try riffling, dribbling, and cutting the cards in a couple of different ways. You'll see that sometimes the whole deck appears to be made up of just one card. Since the edges of that card are shorter throughout the deck, this effect is achieved. I'm not a pro with the svengali deck though, so you should ask someone else.

If I'm not mistaken, all three decks came with instruction booklets for a handful of simple tricks.  If you didn't get them, there's no shortage of books and videos that cover using marked decks, stripper decks and Svengali decks.

Simple, effective use of a stripper deck - you're doing a trick that would normally require careful shuffling to control a card.  With a stripper deck, just flip the card around before inserting it back into the deck - you can shuffle as many times as you want and still have an easy way to access that card with a simple cut.  Just don't perform a shuffle that flips half of the cards around!

Another routine - face the red cards one way, black cards the other way before the trick.  Shuffle, show to spectator.  Use patter to talk about your ability to separate the colors, "like oil and water."  Pull the deck in opposing directions by the stripped edges  - with practice you'll have all the red cards in on hand and all the black cards in the other.

This shows a little box that looks like it would contain one White Lions Series B and one Silver Split Spades! That would be a pretty cool set!

Not that I know of. But it seems like its getting closer. Maybe Simonart can tell us that it's soon?   ;)

It's also a great way to force a card on someone.  But I personally prefer a Mirage deck over a Svengali - it has a fix for the biggest weakness a Svengali deck has: the inability to spread or fan the deck face up without giving the gimmick away.  It's less limiting in performances that way.

As well, the effect is more versatile and much more powerful IMO.

I'm guessing this deck will be sold with multiple options: either in a set (1 signed, 1 not signed), but also individually so you can buy them in great quantities.

There's already a photo circulating of David on his motorcycle holding a two-deck boxed set of these and the Series B White Lions in blue.  I'd like to think they'll also be available for general sale, but it's not so easy to predict - look at the exclusives he's done for the White Lions so far...

Hopefully the decks won't be that expensive, I love how the Series B red lions were only $4.95 ea for 12, bit disappointed about the increase for the black labels.

Blaine is usually super-secretive about releases - he'll announce usually only a few days ahead of the release time, complete with countdown clock.

Considering each of the 2012 White Lions have been released about 4 weeks between each other, If I had to take a guess the Silver Ed. Split Spades should be released late October - early November.
