There's nothing officially for sale yet, so I guess this would be the right place to post this question...  Since we have such seasoned collectors who belong to this forum, I have a question for you all and would appreciate if you would answer... I will be selling off a portion of my collection (mainly newer, more modern decks)... I have noticed on eBay that people seem to be selling more than ever in groups - for example; 1 LTD, 1 Gold Arcane, 1 Charity Water... etc... I think that there is such an over saturation in the USPC collectible playing card market right now and that people are spending in abundance trying to pick up everything coming out that they may not have the funds to throw down for a large group of decks...

1. Do you feel that you enjoy purchasing more in groups rather than purchasing individual decks?
2. What do you all think, and are there any decks in particular that people want and are willing to pay decent $ for right now?

Thanks, J.

You need to strike a delicate balance when it comes to deck bundling.  Small bundles, say a half-dozen rare/moderately rare decks, do have appeal, even to people who already have a couple of them - the extra decks can simply be held for a future sale when prices are even higher, or be used as trade fodder to get other decks they desire.

But when you see the MASSIVE bundles, they really have appeal only to someone wanting to kick-start their collecting hobby.  Most existing collectors will have too large a percentage of those to make it worthwhile.

Themed bundles are a good idea.  For example, if you had both colors of the Japanese Friar's Club deck, you can bundle them.  Another fine bundle would be the three first-edition Crown Decks (perhaps with a Black Crown for good measure), or the three gold-bordered Tally Ho decks commissioned by Tomohiro Maeda.  Someone who had none of those decks but desired them would get the whole set in one shot - very appealing.

Bundling does have a drawback, however.  Most people expect to get all the decks in the bundle for less than they would be worth if they were sold separately, like a bulk discount.  You may sell more decks faster, but you also might not raise as much cash as you would prefer.

Best of luck to you in finding that happy balance.

Side note - I still have to talk with you about those Americanas!  Still interested, I hope?

I like bundles when they are themed. like one of each artifice deck. other then that i prefer to buy them buy them selves.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

I remember someone on these forums showed an amazing bundle with hundreds of rare decks. The guy had put a reserve around 2,000$+, but the highest bid was for 1,000$. Usually people are unwilling to spend more than 500$ on a set, no matter how good the deal. I think the best deals are smaller ones: a couple decks by the same company, a couple decks in the same series, or a brick of similar style decks. You should also have more demand and make better deals with smaller bundles.

I don't mind purchasing bundles because most of the time, when you buy decks in bundles, you purchase them cheaper for what they usually go for. For example, I've been watching a few auctions of half a brick of Smoke & Mirrors that went for $350. Sure, that's a bit high, but the decks, if bought sepearately would sell for way, way more.

Another auction consists of the following decks:

1. Black Ghost v1
2. Magic-Con 2011
3. Magic-Con 2012
4. Smoke & Mirrors v5
5. Red Artifice
6. White Monarch
7. LTD
8. Gold Arcane
9. Tungstene
10. Absolute Vodka
11. IAOCP Deck
12. Smoke & Mirrors v4

This auction went for $400. If the seller sold them separately, they would easily get about $500, if not more. If it were up to me, I'd say bundles are the best way for the seller to get more for the buck.

only 500$ if they had sold them seperately  would get more than 750$ those decks are the most collectible decks now!!!!

I was following that auction too.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/290727196478?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649#ht_500wt_975

Another one that's not as rare but for your reference is
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270997188694?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649#ht_500wt_975

But yeah, I'm thinking if you're bundling up a couple of rare decks and put it on ebay, there are bound to be collectors who want to get their hands on them. One advice though, try not to put a reserve on auctions if you were to use ebay. Personally, I feel it's a major turn-off. You could however include a buy it now price as well so someone who's willing to pay more to ensure they get the cards instead of waiting for the auction to end have the chance to do so.

Another thing, I agree that if you were to sell in too big of a bundle, it probably won't receive any attention so it's better to stay away from that. This auction on ebay has been relisted several time..

Yeah, that auction's come on our radar a while back. He used to have a starting amount of 0.99 but a reserve. We asked him how high it was, and he said 2,000 something. It only reached 1100 and some bananas though.
