These cards look very simple, and I love the shade of purple used in the cards. What I don't understand is, why does USPCC only give .15$ to charity per deck? I think they should give more. And I admire Theory11 for giving 100% of their funds to Charity Water. I think USPCC should increase the amount they give for sure.

That's a very obvious statement. Who wouldn't want them to give some of the money they make to charity? What I'm saying is that it would be nice to see them give more to charity. They will be selling these between 2.99 and 3.99$ I'm guessing, so 15¢ is only between 5% and 3.75%, which isn't much at all. If theory11 had the courage to give 100% from their charity water decks, USPCC should at least increase the amount they give by a little bit.

OK, then.  You're "courageous", right?  Go ahead, make a charity deck of your own, and YOU figure out just how much of the MSRP you're willing and able to give away!

Dude, as nice as it would be, companies can't always afford such grand gestures.  You make assumptions all over the place, many without a shred of factual information.  The following items ARE NOT FREE: card stock, tuck box stock, ink, printing press time, storage space, employees, shipping, etc.  While it would be wonderful for them to donate fat wads of cash to all kinds of charities, it's probably not a good idea if it means that they can't afford to keep the lights on and keep their employees working.

You're probably underestimating the end result MSRP of the deck as well, but that doesn't matter since it's not a percentage, but a fixed amount being donated.  Let's say they make 50,000 decks on the new web press, so they can stock them in a wide number of shops.  At fifteen cents a pack, it adds up to $7,500 going to a charity that didn't have that $7,500 previously.  And that's only one measly 50K print run, and only one of the handful of charity decks they're producing in recent months.

So get off your friggin' high horse and stop trying to piss away other people's money how you see fit and let them do it themselves.  If you think these charities need and deserve more cash, perhaps you should have saved that five years of gift money and donated it rather than blowing it all on playing cards!!!

Yay, I love the purple back. I like all the new charity-based decks. I hope they'll have these at my local walgreens or CVS as well.
