----------------------UPDATE Dec. 21st----------------------

Page 3 - Codename: Ace Case

--------------------------------------------------------------------

 Hey guys!

I know we talked about creating 'Official Topics' for card companies to consolidate all of the posts that go on here. Let me be the first to do so, this is where you can ask us questions, post pictures of our decks and we can give you product announcements. Feel free to use this thread in case you can't find the specific topic you are looking for. The subject line will be updated each time we make a significant update to the thread. On to the news...

------------------

You might have wondered where/what Circle City Cards (Adam and I) have been up to the past month or so. Adam has been really busy at his real job, but he has shown me his preliminary outlines of the new deck he is working on, very cool. I've been steadily working on a few more deck ideas and have two projects in various stages of production as I type! One of the decks I have coming up is under tight wraps right now and I can't say much about it other than you can look for it around late-September. It's a fully custom deck that will have one of the best tuck-boxes I have ever seen. That's not hype either, it's straight up a fact.

The other project I had a hand in has created a little bit of a 'buzz' lately in the card community. I helped create the Hornet deck that has been going around online for the past few weeks. I was hired by 'John' to do the layout and be the liaison to USPCC. The Hornet deck is a reprinting of one of the older designs in the USPCC archives. 'John' had me design some basic updates such as the Jokers, Ad Cards, and overall cohesiveness of the deck and promo materials. As payment for all of this I was to be compensated 50% of the net revenue after we made our initial investments back. 'John' of course, fell through on most of his end of the deal and left me footing most of the payment to USPCC for the cards since I was the contact with them.

You may have noticed the complete lackluster attempt at promoting this deck, the Facebook page is just a sad example of how he decided to market everything. 'Half-assed' is the the most appropriate word. I was just supposed to be the silent investor with a little bit of design help. I've accepted what has happened and have decided to move on with everything myself. I have taken over the whole operation starting immediately. There are going to be some changes to the original flier that went around a month ago.

I will be creating a new Hornet deck topic just after this one with all the details if you have questions.

TL;DR
1. New fully custom deck coming out in November
2. I am in charge of the Hornet deck now.

His name isn't John.  I'm not going to go into too much detail about who he is, I'm just looking to move forward.

We won't make a new thread about this just yet.  It's the answer to our most frequently asked question... "When does the next one come out?"

Yes, the Quicksilver deck will be a Bicycle deck.  It's the follow up to the Brimstone deck.

I am pretty much finished with it, small details might change as always.  The kickstarter will be very basic: cards and uncut sheets.  The pricing will be better for international backers and there will be incentive to back early (cheaper decks). The kickstarter will be 30 days and there will be stretch goals.  The campaign shouldn't change much, it will be set right from the beginning.

I'll have full info when it is closer to the time.

I guess I should consider myself lucky for having one of this  :D

Can anyone please explain why a screw up like this would be considered valuable for any reason?

Oh my goodness! I can't wait! The Bicycle Brimestone deck brough is Fire, and now Quicksilver brings us Ice. I'm assuming that's the theme, right? I'll be one of the first backers up there, you bet! Are you sure that these decks won't have copyright issues as the Brimestone deck? I loved the first back design, but I still loved the deck after the change (although many people didn't).

Looking forward for this release. Much like many artists who go in a series. Fire then ice. Brings the decks closer together even though they are not alike. Your artwork is beautiful.

Hmm...  Brimstone is "fire", but Quicksilver is actually mercury, not ice.  The element mercury, the only metal that's a liquid at room temperature.  Where did you get "ice" from?

Before I read these past posts, I imagined Quicksilver to be blue and silver, the opposite of a mainly gold and red Brimstone deck. This would make for such a beauty! After all the amazing decks you've released, this one would have to be a huge success!

Thanks for the kind words!   Yes, the Quicksilver deck would be more 'water' than ice, but you got the colors correct.  The theme of the deck will be similar to the Brimstone deck but with some tweaks to add detail.

Also, the back is fully custom in the same way the Brimstone deck was.  No copyright problems.

---IF the Quicksilver is successful---
For all you alchemy nerds out there, can you guess the third (and final) deck? The name will make sense if you are thinking right. (Sorry if that sentence is obtuse)

Haha, Hell no.  The third would be in the same grouping as Brimstone and Quicksilver.  BTW that deck is a LONG way off, I have a few others I would like to get out first.

Hey Russell, how many new decks do you have up your sleeves? Hornet, then Quicksilver, followed by the vintage series, the 3rd deck after Brimstone and Quicksilver... What else? It seems that since the big 4 companies (T11, E, D&D, and TBC) have slowed down a bit in production, smaller companies such as yours can flourish, and I find that very good: it makes competition for the big 4, forcing them to step up their game and create marvelous artwork as well as great quality.
PS: I looked online to see what could follow Brimstone and Quicksilver in Alchemy, but I can't find anything..

I've actually made 3 other vintage decks.  I would love to release them all at the same time, but I don't have the cash to print them all at once.  That's why I am letting everyone else decide based on a poll that I will put up later.

---edit---

They are more than just reprints of old designs, they are completely reworked from the ground up. It's the same thing as I have done with the Hornet deck.

TBC, as HOPC, releases about a deck a month - how is that slow?
