I'm not an expert on this subject, but, if I were you, I'd try to go for Papercuts because that at least has voiced tutorials. I've seen both The Trilogy (Flourishes) and The System, and it's very hard to follow along and know what they are doing with only visuals and captions. Good luck anyways with what ever decision you decide to make.

Honestly I'd go for the trilogy, but I'd probably consider genesis v2, but I do not own it.
What I want to know, is where would solo fit into all of this?

go for papercuts. the system is harder than the trilogy. paper cuts is a step up and will challenge u but the flourishes are doable at your level. System and trilogy might discourage you.
have you heard the word???

Thanks. Are all the cuts in Papercuts advanced or are most of them intermediate?

I never owned the system, but my first cardistry dvd was the Thrilogy. I had never done cardistry before, but had 3 years of magic experience, which helps in handling a deck of cards. I went through the first few cuts of the flourishes without much difficulty. I think that's really a good dvd. Even if they don't talk, they are really smooth moves, who can really help you in the future, to smoothen your flourishes. It helped for me, that's for sure.

Not really because there is no audio  teachings, just the twins performing a few cuts in a few angles.

I own all three and Xtreme Beginners and Genesis v2. There's audio teaching in Papercuts? But anyways I was in the same situation as you, tried The System and The Trilogy, and gave up. Way too hard. Papercuts was perfect. A bit challenging, but many fun concepts. Definitely the best idea IMO.

Well, I started off directly with the Trilogy and never really had any discouraging moments. Whenever something would be slightly out of my reach, I'd just watch YouTube videos of people doing it and learned other moves in the meantime. And the tutorials are super easy to follow so it's not really that bad.

As for people not being able to learn from the System, you're not the first to try. Before Papercuts and Genesis, people still learned flourishes just fine. Did they have to try a little harder? Sure. But by forcing you to work harder, you get so much better at the things you do. Because you have to focus so hard to just understand the moves on the System, you'll see nuances that you really won't in things like Papercuts.

Either way you go though, it's not about the individual difficulty level. Practice hard and it really doesn't matter what you get.

Hi, "Papercuts" is a good DVD to learn,,  I have a library of cardistry, IWO, Starting,, well , Genisis # 1 , De'vo  # 1 , The Twins "Everythingelse" ( D&D) , Then the Trilogy and the System Flourish DVD's,  Everyday, exersize and stretch your fingers,But don't over do it ,, give your hands time to rebound,, (Rest) .Then jump into it full bore, and Rest your hands, Strength will come fast,, Also learn some quordination skills,, I work with ( Pare-A-Dittles )    ( EXAMPLE )    ring finger to middle finger,  R,M,RR ,, M,R,MM, For me this is real hard,, With in time the strength and sequence will come,  Alternate all fingers, till you get a flow , so to speak !! Practice as much as posible to your life style,, Ambition is the Key !!!  I have started this late in life, but I see big advances useing what all the DVD's say,, !!    Practice and Exersize your hands,
