Hey Everyone,

For today's Reveal I thought it was big enough to start a new thread here in the Playing Card Plethora section.

Here are the final cards in the ORNATE Decks - the Gaff Cards. They include a 2-Sided Ad Card and a Split Backer.
For the Uncuts - the ORNATE Side is with the Back Designs and the HOPC Side is with the Face Cards.

It's been a pleasure working with Kevin and Alex and I look forward to the possibility of working with them in the future.

Also, it looks like an August 14th release is good to go!

thanks, Randy

I love this deck

And I think it has been amazing watching the slow reveal. I have complemented you on your salesmanship before.

But now that I see the HOPC logo I have a great fear.

Will these be as unreasonably priced as the Olympic decks?

Don't get me wrong, like the olympic decks, I will still buy them. But I was hoping for a brick, if these are >$10 a pop it looks like it would only be 2 of each for me again  :(

I can't post the exact price but have no fear, they will be under $10.

Also, next Tuesday will be another big Reveal showing a set of some custom
items that will go very nicely with the decks!

thanks, Randy

This is a great deck and the stuff Randy has in store is also really nice.  He's put a lot of work into the entire thing and it's a great set of products. I hope HOPC comes through and gets these out to the world ASAP. I'm looking forward to adding these to my collection!

All of HOPC's prior deck releases were $7.95 or less.  The Olympic deck was an exception.

Strictly guessing, no inside info, I'd figure these will cost on par with what the Bicycle Americanas cost - $7.95.  Remember, just a guess - don't lynch me if I guessed wrong!

The extras being offered are really sweet - very appealing for collectors and, on one particular item, ordinary Joes/Janes who play cards.

Wow! Thanks Paul, Alex and Emmanuel. It's an honor to see positive comments from three great deck designers!

I think the item that Don is referring to as appealing for ordinary Joes is an AceKase (http://www.acekase.com/gallery.html). I've been trying for the past couple months to get an ORNATE branded Brushed Chrome and 24k Gold Plated AceKase as a premium item to go with the Cards, Poker Chips and the set to-be-named-later.

Sadly, it looks like that's not going to happen. I setup a pretty elaborate greyscale version of the ORNATE Ad Card that they were trying to Laser Etch onto the AceKases. After about a month of trial and error it was abandoned. For the past month they've been working on the possibility of screenprinting the art onto the AceKases. It's been a couple weeks since I've heard from them so I'm not holding my breath that the cost of screenprinting was a viable option for them.

Even though it looks like it's not going to happen, I wanted to give a shoutout to AceKase. I think they are very high-end looking Card Cases and I'll be picking up a couple for myself to display the Scarlet and Sapphire Decks.

thanks, Randy

I apologize if this has been mentioned in a separate thread, but I was wondering as to the number of decks in this print run. Has that info been or will it be released?

Thank yehs.

Hey Cosmicsecret, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say the print quantities yet.

The card details are Aristocrat Stock with Magic Finish
(same stock and finish as the black Seronda version of the Seasons Playing Cards).

thanks, Randy

Hey Everyone,

I just started a contest on my Facebook Page
(http://www.facebook.com/midnightcards). Here's the details:

"Alright, let's start off a 24-hour contest!

Back when I was thinking of designing a deck of Playing Cards, I was watching a television show that lit the spark to do an all-out Regal / Ornate / Baroque deck of Cards.

This contest is simple. The first person to guess the TV show that was the inspiration for the ORNATE Playing Cards Wins an ORNATE Poker Chip Sample Set! ONLY 2 GUESSES PER PERSON PLEASE. If the correct answer hasn't been guessed by this time tomorrow I'll give a hint that will narrow it down immensely."

thanks, Randy

"Uh, OK, I'm gonna guess 'Pawn Stars' and 'American Pickers'!  It's gotta be one o' them, they're on practically all the time!"

"Ah'll go wit' 'Mythbusters' and 'Junkyard Wars'!"

"I think it's 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' or 'The Brady Bunch'!"

Good luck with the (wildly irrational) guesses many people will be sending you, Randy.  I thought you'd like a sneak peek!  :))

Hey Don, it was "The Tudors" and a guy guessed it in the first 15 minutes or so! I had a second contest, with a another Poker Chip Sample Set, ready to go in case that happened. It's very abstract and going now until tomorrow night.

I've tried watching The Tudors a few times over the years. I want to like it but the pace is soooo slow it's just so hard to watch, especially since I try to watch it while I'm on the Elliptical!

My wife and I used to watch Mythbusters all the time! It had extra interest for us when we lived on the island of Alameda, CA and they did most of their shooting on the island. I just googled it to make sure and found this great video on Mythbusters and Alameda (http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/mythbusters/videos/iconic-alameda.htm). Man I miss that place sometimes!!

thanks, Randy

Wow, Randy, these boxes are beautiful and a nice collectible. I am impressed. So you have four different box designs for two different decks, right?

Yep, the Blue and Red Boxes are for the Sapphire and Scarlet Decks specifically. The Black Box is the MIX Brick Box and the Purple Box is a general Midnight Card Company Brick Box.

thanks, Randy
