Just got an email this morning from card-shark.de and they have a new deck out now - the Green Phoenix Deck.

Celebrate our first release of our Phoenix Deck brand in an odd colour.

With a great contrasting green back design and the regular Phoenix face with all the hidden features of Phoenix you will receive a first class deck in highest US Playing Card Quality. The deck is not marked but has a oneway design on the backs and faces like all decks of the Phoenix brand, making this the perfect choice for magicians.

As this is only a limited run and therefore the price per deck has to be higher, we decided to offer you a volume pricing, the more you order, the less you pay per deck!

Get them now before they sell quickly, only 3000 decks printed!

Why is a one way back perfect for magicians again? Could have sworn it was the opposite...oh well

These look just OK in my opinion. Nothing more. I find the green too pale. I will be getting one, but just one, no more.

Haha! An auction for an unseen deck with a "picture" from what appears to be movie quotes. Somethings isn't right...obviously!

And I thought the blue one was "pale". I'm going to wait to see what these look like. I have a feeling the color might be something close to key lime green...a color that I'm not very fond of.

Well quite obviously I have failed as a business person. If that deck is on eBay at $124 each, with a run of 3000, that means that I should have sold each Tendril deck for $74.40.

Man, what a moron I am. I could have made over $370,000 of that one run! I am so fail.

I see no standard aces this time around but the double backer is a nice addition.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

An obvious, easily-spotted one-way back, bad.
A subtle, easy-to-read, hard-to-chance-upon one-way back, good.

The Phoenix design employs the subtle version.  It's also located at the cards' side edges, making it easy to see in a spread or a fan.

I'm a fan of Phoenix decks, but I'm still wrapping my head around this one.  I might pass.
