Now this is what happens when I get bored and sit for 10 minutes and have fun designing. You get something that could possible be a cool deck.
This is in no way a real deck... yet.
Could it be?
Tell me what you guys think.
Thanks,
Ken Kayne

Nothing against the Compass deck, but I prefer this one MUCH more, although it is slightly reminiscent of the Blue Tune deck.

Your right! I had forgotten about that one, it was a very nice deck.

I don't know about everyone else, but I can't even see the deck because the picture is so small.

I like the design, especially the smokey blue effect, obviously this is blue due to it being "Cobalt" but would like to see this done in red, green and purple with a gold central design.

Other colors would be cool, I'll try that.
Also keep in mind that you guys have not
fully seen the compass redesign, you'll like it to.

I've got dozens of designs that I will be running by you guys,
so keep up the ideas.
What would you think for the AoS and joker?

For the AoS I'm picturing something like the Infinity deck AoS but in blue.

This also definately deserves a whimsical AoS. I feel that the "smokeyness" of the back should play a part, and not have many hard lines. I feel it should look slightly floral with organic lines and shapes.

Does that make any sense?

I like...scratch that...love the design so far. I can't wait to see what other design you have possibly better than this! Say, on the back, can you continue the blue "smoke" design to surround the entire card as opposed to just the north and south borders?

the back design is nice. I would buy a few. The ace though need major work. I hate that one.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

I hate the ace now too,
but I'm to tired to do a new one.
Keep brainstorming, I need some sleep.
See you all tomorrow!

Well, your first post kind of said it all... "Ten minutes"... That's how long it looks like it took to design the deck... I don't have any real exacting critique regarding this deck other than it looks like a slew of other decks that are being pushed these days... Computer made, color changes, complacent and boring designs... It always amazes me the comments... "I love the design..." Really?  How is my hobby the same as yours?

Instead of making color variations right now, I think you should work on making the back design better. It needs a lot of work and changes still.

A few suggestions:

- First, remember that you aren't just designing a back. All of the cards in the deck need to be cohesive, follow the theme and present as a integrated unit. We all start with the back but don't focus too much on just that one aspect. Keep in mind how the concepts you come up with for the back can translate into the front (since it sounds like you aim to do fully custom)
- The back design as you have it is too much in the center. Think of what that will look like in a fan. As it is now, you have no design elements close enough to an edge/corner so all you'd get is a solid black fan. Kind of boring.
- Remember that borderless black back and white face will not be a favorite of magicians, and you will have to deal with the edge chipping issues that everyone hates. I know even the big guys do cards like that (Artifice) but that design seems to be "tolerated" rather than enjoyed.

Keep at it!

Thank you everyone,
but this is just something I did for fun.
I don't think this deck will become anything any time soon.
We have two other completely finished decks, and at least three other designs that are pretty
much making themselves. Those decks are already in the court card phase,
and they would come before this deck ever would.
Just thought that you guys would like to see a  little fun design I through together.
I can't make all my designs real decks.
Thank you all for this advice,
and I will be running a lot of ideas by you guys.
Thanks again,
Ken Kayne
