Just got this email right now from Handlordz about a new deck - Dominion. No pictures yet, here is the info.

Dominion, a brand new deck of playing cards by De'vo vom Schattenreich with stunning artwork by Prof. D.W. Phelyx Hopkins.  Bold, Dark, and unique, there aren't any other cards on the market like this one.  This deck has been carefully designed to capture the eye, both still, and in motion.  This deck uses a borderless design to produce bright and stunning fans that can be seen at great distances.  Beautiful details are woven through-out the design to capture attention at closer distances as well.  This deck is geared towards manipulators/performers and contains the following:  simple, dark, yet classy custom faces including court cards and a custom Ace of Spades.  This deck has also been designed so that it can appear like 2 different decks of cards by using 2 solid colored cover cards, and there are blank cards as well.  Two sets of both the cover cards and blank cards are included to provide cover when the deck is divided into two.

This deck uses the same amazing stock and finish as De'vo's Blades, lauded around the world as the best cards for manipulation.

The tuck is simple, yet bold.  A black tuck with red foil entices you to play.  Two other amazing items are being developed to be released as companions to the amazing Dominion deck.  One is a clip, the other, well, you'll have to wait for these badboys.

We'll release information on these items as we get close to launch.

I can't stand De'vo but his decks do handle nice. I'm tired of the blades series so I am curious to see what this deck looks like.

I'm presuming this is one of the deck projects they've been quietly hyping...

Vmagic, thanks for the tip.  You're always right there with the De'vo info!  :))

Any word yet on a release date?  I'm thinking sometime in October - it's a bit too early for the November and Black Friday releases to be getting hyped now.  If you don't use hype in carefully-measured doses and only within a short time of release, it becomes more easily forgotten (or neglected due to annoyed fans, a la the Monarchs release at T11).

LIMITED EDITION PRO XCM DOMINION DECKS
http://www.xtremehandz.com/catalog/item/1177533/8569078.htm
A brand new deck by De'vo vom Schattenreich with amazing artwork by Prof. D.W. Phelyx Hopkins. We worked together to bring something different in this world of 5 million cards that all look alike. This deck has been carefully designed to capture the eye, both still, and in motion. It is the most beautiful and versatile fanning deck on the market. This deck is mirror back fanning deck, meaning that you can use them normally and not worry about mixing up the back designs. These cards work great for all of your needs, but when you Fan one way and you'll get a beautiful bright red fan, fan the other way and you'll get a black different pattern. The fans were designed to be highly visible both on and off stage. Giant fans are amazing with this deck!
This deck comes with 4 cover cards, 2 blank jokers, and 2 double sided red and black cover cards. Black Spot cards have gradient pips, red cards have standard red pips in the corners only. None of the spot cards have center pips (but the court and aces do). All have this beautiful pattern in the center. De’vo didn't want a "standard" kind of deck with Dominion. He wanted to break the rules and create something truly different and beautiful! This is such an amazing deck in many ways!

LIMITED EDITION DOMINION PORPER CLIPS
http://www.xtremehandz.com/catalog/item/1177533/9336005.htm
Joe Porper clips are well known through-out the world as the best card clip.  They have a special spinal design that keeps your cards flat and protected and were made with the utmost quality.  These black DOMINION Porper’s are the first Joe has produced with a custom mixed black metallic ink and a very special center cut-out that shows off the beautiful red foil seal of the DOMINION deck.  Every Dominion Porper Clip will come with a Limited Edition Dominion deck of cards.

LIMITED EDITION DOMINION DICE
http://www.xtremehandz.com/catalog/item/1177533/9601559.htm
These amazing professional casino dice are the same high quality razor sharp edged dice featured in the world's most famous casinos. These professional dice feature a gold foil spade pip from the Dominion deck in place of the one on every die. Every set of 4 of these amazing dice have matching sets of serial numbers and come in a padded box. Less than 100 of these amazing sets of Casino dice will be available for sale.

MMD – MAGICIANS MUST DIE
http://www.xtremehandz.com/catalog/item/1177533/9230980.htm
1st Edition Comic Deck MMD – Magicians Must Die - with Limited Edition Cover. The World's first comic deck series is here!  This one of a kind deck has been in the works for 10 years, and now De'vo has made this amazing project a reality. Nothing like this has ever been done before by the USPC - or anyone else that we know of. This deck will rock your world! Amazing artwork by comic artist Jay Noble Peteranetz. The same stock and finish as De'vo's Blades, and the back forms a poster sized comic!  Each image was hand drawn and inked.  Many of the weapons/illusions were first created in 3D, then used as reference material for the artist.  This has been a huge project and is a first in the history of cards.  Don't miss out on this Limited Edition cover of the very first edition of this comic!  Check out the promo video here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75WBJG8gzlI

On the other hand, I actually like the deck. I haven't seen a deck in a while that fanned in two colors when used in two different ways. The last thing I've seen like that is the 4-Way Tetra deck, but I haven't been around for much anyway.
The deck was built for a purpose, and it served that purpose.
What I don't understand is the price point. Why is one deck nearly $10?
The price on the Porpor is okay considering you get one deck with it, but why on Earth would you sell 4 dice for $25? Who's going to buy that?

Both the new De'vo decks look absolutely terrible! Definite pass for me.
Well, why? - You know what they say, don't judge a book by the cover. If you flaming him, then, I'll say you shouldn't judge a book by its author either.

Pics/videos of both decks have been posted on the Handlordz facebook page, so I'm not judging a book by its cover, or a book by its author  :)

I think I picked the perfect time to trim the Handlordz decks from my want list...

Don't you love how nearly all the cards look identical on the back AND front?  Meanwhile, his other deck is totally the opposite!

On the other hand, I actually like the deck. I haven't seen a deck in a while that fanned in two colors when used in two different ways. The last thing I've seen like that is the 4-Way Tetra deck, but I haven't been around for much anyway.

Bro, take away ten bucks for the cards and the Porper clip is $40 - that's high.  All his stuff this time around is overpriced, not that he was ever known for his bargains.

There have been other fanning decks.  You just haven't found them.  De'vo's "Cardistry Deck" was one of them and it came out only a handful of months ago.

And Evan's not simply judging the book by its cover - there are pictures showing the cards on the Handlordz site!  That's the cover and the first few chapters!  If you're going to use a metaphor, please figure out what it means first.

Well, I didn't mean it in that way, but what I meant was, "At least get a chance to handle the deck before you make judgments about it." - With that I'll leave off saying, "Don't hate it til' try it." You might never know when De'vo might change his printing quality. Although it highly unlikely, it's fun to use your imagination. :D

Wow 2 decks that most people will be passing on, way to go Devo! Who the hell would want to buy these cards, they look like they are blank. If they had pips then they might actually be worth it, but as they are, they look incomplete or something.

First, no, Porper clips aren't that expensive.  Thirty bucks is the going rate for a standard Porper and one made slightly larger to hold E decks, and the one with the Arcane Ace cut-out is only $35. A quick Google search shows that the only company charging more is D&D.  Oh, and De'vo!

As far as trying the deck - well, you do realize that Magic Finish is the default finish for custom decks these days, and that the alternative is standard finish, right?  Unless he used an assload of metallic ink, there's nothing that should cause the deck to take a hit in performance - or ANY USPC-made deck these days, for that matter.  Any deck made in the past year or so, fresh out of the box; they're all great.  Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Oh, and there is that little detail where we were discussing how butt-ugly the deck is.  It could handle like silk fresh from the butts of the finest silkworms on earth, but if it looks like the remains from a florist shop fire, will you really care about the handling?

Wow 2 decks that most people will be passing on, way to go Devo! Who the hell would want to buy these cards, they look like they are blank. If they had pips then they might actually be worth it, but as they are, they look incomplete or something.

They are incomplete, and he likes them that way.  The indices are barely noticeable in the first place, and they have no pips?  Really, why bother - just make them all without suits and values and pips and be done with it.  He and his fellow XCMers can rejoice over having the first "true" XCM deck devoid of any of the conventional trappings used by [puts nose in air] magicians, [/puts nose in air] and the rest of us can scratch our heads and wonder if there's enough hardcore XCMers in the world to keep the lights on and the Internet working at his office...'cause ain't no one else gonna buy it or the MMD deck!

Must say the deck does look interesting and somewhat different. If it pleases XCM then so be it.  :bosswalk:

I will say that I think the design is pretty cool, but the lack of pips and court faces really does make the deck feel like it's incomplete as some people have already mentioned. With so many decks coming out, it's hard to spend another ten bucks plus shipping on a deck that doesn't even have faces, which is a shame because the rest of the deck combined with some custom artwork had a lot of potential to be an awesome design

probably gonna be a pass for me

  • Kickstarter:
I actually kind of like the lack of pips. It's something different. So long as it handles as good as the blades series, I'll be picking a deck up!
I just hope De'Vo doesn't make a series out of it...
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I like the deck, at least the card faces are different and unique. Will get some for my collection. If the uncut is out, I will be going for that too.
