This deck is gorgeous. I missed out on Blue Blood but I won't on this deck. Thank you Don for sharing these images!
You're welcome. But you should thank Peter and Linnea, who gave me permission to post them and reveal some info about the upcoming project.
This deck looks pretty cool! 'm a big fan of Uusi's artwork style.
That tuck box... so sexy.
I love that the small guys out there can bring such interesting and varied artwork and styles to playing cards. This one looks lovely, I'll certainly grab a couple.
I'm a fan as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing these in my sweaty little hands sometime soon! The tuck box is very cool, not the traditional tuck box style we've seen so many times over the years.
Hey Don, thanks for a great "first preview post" on our new deck Bohemia!
We were really appreciative of the support we received from the Discourse community with our first deck, Blue Blood, and it's great to see everyone else here on this thread liking what they see so far with our latest deck design. We're really excited to launch the KS project for this deck - and yes, the launch date will be October 1st.
I'll probably be starting a new thread/post shortly with info on the new deck etc. and a place where people can ask any questions if they wish.
You don't need to start a new post - just use this one! It's better to have all the info about a new deck in one place.
Peter, I thank you for the appreciation, but honestly, I think this deck will practically sell itself. It doesn't hurt that you and Linnea over at Uusi have a sterling reputation for playing card design. I know I was won over when I saw the other photos and I believe most of the people here will also be.
I am definitely excited about this deck.
I really enjoy the work of the Uusi team.
The Blue Blood deck was remarkable and easily became one of my top 5 favorite decks (with 1 -4 being favorites for personal reasons that is quite a feat)
I suggest checking out their web site in general http://uusi.us/ They have more of their artwork there beyong the playing cards and it is all truly unique.
There is no doubt on my mind that this deck will get funded and that I will be trying to figure out if I keep the posters and art prints from Blue Blood on the wall or if I switch them out for Bohemia
I've seen their site before - they do some truly excellent work. If ever one needs a designer for a professional-grade project, Design by Uusi deserves your consideration.
I've been waiting for a Boho deck. Although I have a little reservations on this one. But maybe once we see more of it and stuff I might change my mind .
GAMBATE KUDASAI!
I think you'll certainly be convinced when you see the additional artwork. You'll be able to tell instantly that this is a beautifully-done, hand-painted masterpiece of playing card design. And no, that's not hyperbole - I'm being absolutely straight with you and everyone here on this. This will rank among the best decks of this year, if not the best itself. As great as the Blue Blood deck is, this is that much better.
This deck looks VERY nice!
Thank you for this information!
I have seen many "KS" projects got mentioned in this forum, I think I better do some research on how does KS work and how to join...
This is a very nice deck!!!
Kickstarter is a place any interested card collector should look to for some new, innovative work. Granted, you will find some chaff among the wheat, but there's enough top-notch work there to warrant your attention.
Although I can't see myself sitting down and play Friday Night Poker with this deck. I could see getting a couple for my grandma to play Hearts and Solitaire with.
All joking aside I find the jokers very appealing. I especially like the card color and back ground lines that make it look like they were painted on pine wood. Very unique, interested to seek more of the court cards. I will have to try to pick up a couple decks, missed the blue bloods introduction.
Thanks Don for keeping us up to date on the plethora of decks coming out.
Shade, you're most welcome. I do my best, though I'm not always the first, to keep everyone here informed.
Trust me when I tell you, you could easily use this deck for poker - you'll know it for yourself once you see the designs. Now if we could only convince Uusi to create it in a second color scheme for the back...
