I'm not sure whether this question had been asked but I would like to ask the above question. Personally, I would save my signed white lions because it's the only deck I owned that is signed.

I'd dump all of them into a sack and run, in an unfortunate event.

I'd save one of my Gold Arcane decks because it was the deck that got me started with collecting.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

But what if the decks you own aren't inventoried?  Or some of them have become so exceedingly rare that they can't be found?  Renter's Insurance will only cover your things if you have an inventory and proof of ownership (receipts or photos of the items in question in your home).

I couldn't think of any one deck.  I'd grab whatever was handy and go.  Cards are cards and lives are lives - I can buy cards, but not lives.

I keep a list of the decks with pics. And I have nothing rare. If I ever get an AIP or riderback uncut, or a very old rare deck. Then I would take it.

Now is this question
If you managed to save everything else of importance and were able to grab one deck, what would it be?
Or is it
In a disaster which deck would you save?

Because in a disaster my playing card collection is probably pretty low on the list of things to save.

Pictures and projects are backed up in multiple places so I wouldn't need those.
But my Grandfather's Conductors hat and Kaleidoscope, my other grandfathers military medals, and my grandmothers incense burner would probably be first. Then my temple stamps. Then if I had time, what parts of the record collection I could. The irony is I would probably die in a fire going back in for a gasmask.

But if we got down to the playing cards, I would definitely grab box #1 that is the box I keep the ones I have picked up in my travels or have some meaning to me.

I'd grab the couple irreplaceable ones, namely the Tendril and Aurum prototypes. Those can't be bought anywhere, so they'd have to top of the list. Might have to snag the framed Tendril plate off the wall on my way out the door. Everything else I own could be purchased again.

But if it works, you might not necessarily die...  :))  Quite the contrary in fact!  It could save your life!  :))
