It seems that dealingdeuces has been caught selling a fake item. Listing was removed from ebay after it caused an uproar.

You may visit the forum  at united cardists for more details of the whole debacle

here is the link of the ebay item that is now been removed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-D-D-Ace-Fulton-Casino-Playing-Cards-12-Decks-Gold-Foil-Wrapped-Promo-Deck-/271084912657?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1deb8011

I saw that auction, and was just shocked. Instantly, I searched Dan and Dave's site to find it there was such a release. Unsurprisingly, nothing was found. Then, I started to feel that this indeed was a fake. I'm glad to find the truth. It's such a shame that a good company, such as DuelingDueces, would be caught selling fake products. i'll definitely be more aware when purchasing from their site.

It's an unfortunate thing, really.  I'm going to post him on the DO NOT TRADE list and the NDR.

It wasn't a hard conclusion to come to, if Dan and Dave really did make a gold foil edition no doubt their marketing department would've made it known.

Of the recent decks so far, only the Arcos from DealingDueces had gold foil.

What is interesting is that that may be a breach of patent depending on the circumstances.

If it was a super-limited edition, something only given to certain people and not the world at large, no, they would not have been promoting it.  But when the deck's designer and one of the owners of the company who funded his design both say no such thing exists, well - it doesn't, at least not as a genuine article.

I took a harder look at the posted photo for the listing.  You can see where someone applied a sticker of some kind onto the foil wrapper.  He probably scanned the image from the deck box, tweaked it and printed it on clear adhesive plastic.

I'm just curious about what impact this will have on his business as a whole.  Selling a fake product in a collector's market - and getting caught - can be the kiss of death.  I could see fraud and attempted fraud charges being leveled at him by disgruntled buyers.

Dan and Dave confirmed via twitter that the deck is fake too. I think the fact that DD tried to claim that it was a promotional thing and he had apparently associated it with Dan and Dave, only to be called out by both Fulton and the twins themselves, makes it very hard to trust this seller anymore. It makes me wonder if all of his vintage products are the real deal...
