Using good decks for their intended purpose

knowing my friends, I wouldn't dare let them use any of my cards for card games!! It's weird because you want to show them the beautiful artwork of the cards yet super worried that they'll end up spoiling the cards.. I'll just let them use my Aladdin 1001s which I bought a couple years back not knowing what they were and wondering why they costs five bucks (I wasn't into cards then). The box now has a torn off tuck lid, seal's torn, cards dirtied, box dirtied and bend, haha looks slightly antique if you ask me.    now that I have a blue bicycle master, I'd might use those cos I can get them from ellusionist few using the choose three get one free pack (I forgot what's it actually called  )

As much as I love having and using custom decks for magic, I have two "everyday" decks - decks that I carry in my pockets at all times, ready to perform some kind of magic.

The two decks are:
David Blaine "Discover Magic" Bicycle stripper
Bicycle Guardians, USPC edition

They're custom and cool-looking, while at the same time pretty cheaply obtained - I try to make sure I have an adequate supply of spares in my collection at all times.  Plus the Guardians have a clever and not-obvious one-way back!

I'm looking forward to my next family poker game.  I'm bringing some kind of custom deck with me, even if it's only something like WSOP or Pro PokerPeek.  I know at least one of my brothers will complain - until I explain to them that I own so many rigged and gaffed Rider Back decks that I could clean them out and they'd never know the difference!  They're SAFER if I use something other than "plain old" Rider Backs...

The USPC version is identical in terms of the 52 cards and the two jokers, and can often be found for less. 
(I think that's why they made some design alterations for the Steam Punk deck's USPC version...)

One of the beauties of the USPCC versions!! I know some people aren't fans but it's nice to be able to not have to worry too much about ruining a deck like you would with white lions.

For the collectors out there, it's a deck with much less value (in both monetary and..aesthetic? I'm not sure if that's the word to use).

Yes for collectors it's not that 'valuable' because it can be easily obtained, cheaply too (I regret that I got mine at $20 bucks + due to shipping and expensive prices though, I was a noob then...  :'( ) but for people who want to use these cards, it 'perfect' because of the same two things! it also looks great, I love the design of the aos and the whole feel to the deck

Yeah, the USPC Bike Guardians are pretty good cards.  Better than Bike Standards, that's for certain.  I love the "casino red" instead of the bright red of most standard decks - it's easier on my eyes.  The deck back, the jokers, the AoS - all great eye candy.  And the stock is really good, supple but firm.  I could practically burn a pack of them and not lose sleep over it because of the cheap replacement cost.

I am also tending to use my not so rare decks for card games and I find it very fun!
