He posted this on FB.  No title, no release date, just this - for now...

If I had to guess, I'd say the theme is absinthe!  Lovely shades of green - you don't see that often enough in cards these days.

Another name for Absinthe. The Green Fairy. On his Facebook Page he said the theme was Fairies. Green, Fairies, Absinthe. Lol. As Always, great job by him!

It is beautiful, but it needs touchup - unless he flips one of the shields along the side, this is a one-way back.

Seems to suit Lance's style of design. Very 'in your face' but in a good way. It pops I guess.

It's actually leafy, not flowery - there's no flowers on it!

I will agree with you on that - the design is nothing short of awesome. Very curious how this deck unfolds.

It is beautiful, but it needs touchup - unless he flips one of the shields along the side, this is a one-way back.
And, you're complaining why?

The back looks rather impressive, kind of a slight change of theme in my opinion. Let's see what the faces look like.

MAJOR brownie points if you get it.

The majority of collectors and practically every card player prefers a two-way design on the card back.  How do you not know that?

Ladies and gents, fear not. This back is not the finished product...more along the line of a teaser without that bullshit blur effect we've become accustomed to. So that being said, feel free to expect a two-way back.
Magical as Sin!

Lance sure has a very distinct style of art, luckily it's pretty damn cool. Very excited to see how the tuck ends up looking. Might have to add another LM deck to the collection!

Modifying that design to be a two-way back would probably be the easiest thing Miller has ever done

Please feel free to correct me if my theories are wrong:
majority of collectors
If a card collector does just that...collect cards...how does it matter if the back's one-way or two? I certainly don't mind.

practically every card player
I can see deceptive gamblers and magicians using a one-way back in their respective fields. If it's an obvious one-way, I wouldn't appreciate it, as would the next person. However, if it's something discrete like this, or the Karnival decks, I see many people who can reap the benefits.

This back is not the finished product...more along the line of a teaser without that bullshit blur effect we've become accustomed to.
So, like the Expo deck?

First answer: "collectors" covers the whole gamut of card people: magicians, collectors, flourishers, poker players, etc.  Of those groups, magicians and poker/card players would be the largest.  Poker players wouldn't touch a one-way back with a ten-foot pole, out of concern that some card sharp will use them to their disadvantage.  Magicians tend to stay away from them as well, for similar reasons.  You did catch that "and practically every card player" part, right - the part you edited out of the quote?  If it's Go Fish or War, no one cares, but for any serious game (except, bizarrely, bridge), players prefer two-way backs.  If you don't mind, good for you and good for Lance, assuming you were his only customer...  But as stated, that image is only a preview, not the finished back.

BTW: while some of the early one-way backs from Karnival were more subtle, some are ridiculously obvious.  Only decks of theirs where I haven't spotted a one-way mark (yet) are Karnival Earthtone9 and both editions of the Karnival Death Heads.

Hey all, I haven't really posted here in a while, sorry about that. I've been lost in the throws of creation of my new deck. I wanted to share an update with you guys and ask for some feedback. Here is a current "standing" version of my new deck. It's far darker than I first imagined this deck in my head, but I want to know which variation you like better. The darker version or the lighter version? Weigh in on the topic on my facebook page and be part of the creative process: http://facebook.com/lancemillerdecks

I definitely prefer that version, Lance. It has more pop, and has a bit more mystery within the design, it looks very interesting and majestic, although however you need to fix that one way back!

EDIT: Also, I know Evan will LOVE those thin borders, don't you Evan? :P
