So you all have those moments where you are lucky and cards gave you something to do lets talk about them, halloween day i was on my way to help kids trick and treat and my car started over heating, i had a min 15 mins before someone to get there to help me (no one ever stopped by to help :( ) so i was bored but i happen to have  a pack of black ghost cards with my costume so on the side of the road there was a guy suffiling and doing fancy swing cuts with cards on top of his cards, if i would not have had cards i would have been very bored
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

Yep, this happens to me all the time. Everymorning I decide what deck I will put in my porper clip and head out with. Some people use stress balls, we use cards. I have broken them out at meetings at work. They have helped me many times.

I would guess that he's holding an electric guitar, but lets try to not get off topic here.

Probably shouldn't, but I do every now and then during some University Lectures :P
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Every day I take three decks of cards with me to class. I use time in-between practicing and studying to take time and enjoy another art form that i enjoy.

My favorite instance cards got me through was a 14 hour plane flight to Italy. The cards really saved my but when it came to a long amount of bordom ensuing.

There's a few must-haves for me when I'm out and about.  I'm usually carrying a minimum of two decks of cards, usually a stripper deck and something else.  More often than not, I have four decks either in pockets or in a little satchel I carry around.

When I know I'm going to have time to kill, I have "the briefcase" - all my trick decks, some spare cards to destroy/consume in tricks, and about a dozen and a half ungaffed decks.  It holds over a hundred decks in total when fully loaded, plus seven mini decks and a mess of props.

I used to bring it on gigs, but it's a monster, very heavy, and it's another thing I have to keep track of and worry about - if someone walked off with it, it usually has in the ballpark of $2,000 worth of decks and magic inside.

well i have one that it was bad i had cards...

last Friday,I was on the bus on the way home from school and i was bored so i pulled out my cards and did some fans and stuff. I caught the eye of the guy who sits across from me and he asked if he could throw a couple down the bus, it was a garbagy deck so I said sure. Eventually we were both throwing cards down the bus and at each other. Then, he threw one at me and hit me right in the eye. :-[  I had to go up to the hospital and wear an eyepatch all saturday and sunday. It ended up that I had what was essentualy a paper cut on my eye. It hurt so bad i couldn`t open my eye pretty much all weekend. So now i know not to have card fights with people.
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

Thank God i had cards when its the school holidays, I get very bored and handle a pack of cards every day.

As for what Sabacc said, I usually have 2 or 3 decks on me at one time while out and about. They are all ungaffed except for my svengali deck.

As for "The Briefcase" I want to find a small silver (metal) one to store cards and Magic gear in. Check out this video to get an idea of what I mean: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ribY0h6qmAk&feature=related  . Or even better, this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf9qae4-IZA&feature=related

I don't know where to get them, maybe MrLukeCarroll can tell me where to get them, since we are both in Sydney ( I think) and he is a performer.

I've seen cases identical to those before.  They're tool cases, available at most large hardware stores, especially the bog chains like (in America) Home Depot and Lowe's.  The Sears department store may carry them as well, since they have an extensive hardware selection.  Some electronics shops may carry them - not companies focused on electronic appliances like home theaters and maybe some media like movies and music, but more like Radio Shack, where you can buy individual parts and tools for hobby work and small electronics such as building circuit boards.

I had to wait for my laundry to be washed. It was nice to have a deck on hand and practice some new things with magic.

I'm always carrying at least two decks of cards, even while I'm at work - and one of them's usually a stripper deck.  I'm ready to perform a handful of tricks at a moment's notice.  My wife is supportive of my performing, but can't stand it when I take out a pack of cards at a function.  I'm usually practicing lifts, exchanges and card controls, sometimes experimenting a little to see "what if..."

They also come in handy when I'm killing time and have a place where I can play a little solitaire.  I mean, I have a solitaire game on my iPhone, but it's not the same as shuffling and dealing cards. My solitaire game of choice is Canfield, followed by Klondike, Pyramid, and a variant of Clock that I can actually play with the entire deck in my hands, no table needed.  I only play that, though, when I have no choice - the odds of winning Clock are less than 100:1.
