Brilliantly stripping away all the heritage and history of good playing card design, we've removed everything we could, The suits have been swapped for the printer's choice of ink: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, and the design on the back created from the kind of utilitiarian registration marks and checks usually never seen by the public.

Clever, simple and as easy as ever to use - the cards are coloured by different opacities of ink, creating an amazing gradient when fanned out in your hand during that tense poker game.

I can only imagine they are on Kickstarter as a way of funding the restock (and some publicity) as these have been available for some time.

I have a couple of these.  The quality of the stock is quite poor and they really aren't usable as a deck of cards (as noted, the Yellow are almost impossible to see).  They are interesting as part of my collection but I wouldn't suggest they are all that great otherwise.

I believe they did not consider handling and are no experts in playing cards other than the fact they probably used it on their poker nights.

This deck has a great theme, and a good reason behind the theme. The yellow may be hard to read but i say it is inevitable to stick to the theme and uniformity of the deck. But the deck, as good as the theme, seems just a little too boring, especially the court cards. Even if you wanna keep the whole theme together...At least do something a little more to the joker!!!

The designer in me is asking me to get the deck because of the good theme, but the collector in me just thinks it isn't worth it, especially after considering the cost of deck and international shipping (Though not the most expensive, is still a cost)

I still hope they throw in a printer somewhere in the pledge though....

I really do believe that, as quoted, they are "stripping away all the heritage and history of good playing card design" and that they "removed everything [they] could".

In the process, however, they came up with an end result that's very, very close to unusable as a pack of cards, something that only a designer could love.  Seriously - strip away all the GOOD playing card design, and what the hell do you think you'll be left with?  Simply put, BAD playing card design!  It's pretty in a Helvetica sort of way...  (Yeah, I watched the documentary film last night!)

If I want this kind of "art" I'll just ask my printer to print out a test page...

That's largely because there IS NO DIFFERENCE in the shades between 10 and King.  Ace is 0%/white with the print in the designated color.  2 through 10 are instead 20% through 100% saturation (is that the right term?) - for some reason they gave 10% the cold shoulder.  The courts are the same percentage as the 10.  They spent far more time working on the back design, despite the faces being the deck's purposes for existing.  To me, that right there speaks volumes...

Hundred Million are looking into using USPCC to print the new run of CMYK Playing Cards, there have been requests on the project and it is closing in on $20k, making that a feasible possibility.
I would love for anyone here that is backing the project to throw your voice into the comments and see if we can faux petition that way to help nudge the idea along.

Along with some minor adjustments to differentiate the courts and making the Jokers look like 'off guide' prints I'm really excited for update to a deck I already really liked.
