White Monarchs

Silver Monarchs

Silver Monarchs are unlimited and readily avalible, The e-Bay seller is just being typically semi-shady by mentioning the more expensive White Monarchs.

It should also be noted that while the White Monarchs have a gold-on-white back design, the Silver Monarchs have a black-on-white design.

The original Monarch decks are white-on-navy, and the Gold Monarchs (extremely rare, only 144 survived the print run being destroyed) is gold-on-(either black or navy, not sure which).  If you want to see WHY T11 destroyed the lot, take a look at the back of the Misc. Goods Co. deck.  It utilized a gold-on-black scheme like the Gold Monarchs, but the gold is absolutely overpowered by the black.

The only difference between a regular Monarch deck and a Gold Monarch is the direction of the pull-tab on the cellophane tear strip - it was reversed when wrapping the Gold Monarchs.  The box is identical to a regular Monarchs box.

I don't trust that seller.  He's the same guy who was selling brand new Bicycle Big Gun and Tally Ho decks with salvaged tax stamps from other decks for an outrageously high price.

From what I remember, and from the pictures above, the White Monarchs had a back laced with White and Gold, while the Silver Monarch's backs are Silver and White

I thought I said that...

I DID, I DID say THAT!  :))

Oh, sorry. When using the scroll bar (my wheel's retarded) I accidentally skipped your first comment.

I remember reading that post so your assessment is a fair cop.
But what can he actually do here. He hasn't hidden info that he is actually another deck in the text so if he sends a different deck than advertised ebay would protect you.
That being said if he has been dishonest in the past why reward him for being honest once.
How does that old saying go "fool me once shame on you fool me twice and ahh errr you won't be ever fool me again!,"

Has anyone here ever tried reporting this guy?

I have, actually.  EBay did nothing.

He was charging something like $100 for a brand-new pack of Tally Ho ($3-4) or Bicycle Big Gun (99c!) and sticking a used tax stamp ($1-2 max) on the box, resealing the cellophane.  Probably took him all of five minutes, meaning he put a value on his "labor" of about $1,140/hour.  (For our European members used to commas being used like decimals are in the US, that's not one dollar and fourteen cents; that's one-thousand-one-hundred-forty dollars!  PER HOUR!)  Nice work if you can get it!

If he's that capable of being a rip-off artist, I see no good reason to do business with him, especially when there are other sellers to buy from.
