Hey people!

Elite Playing Cards (Ritual and Divine) have just posted a pic on their Facebook page with the Ritual Gold Edition.

"A very limited supply will be available. Want it? Pre-orders start on monday."
No other info so far and not any other pictures so far

quite nice, but is it a simple color change? I'm starting to get bored of the color changes.

According to the pre-order e-mail that I received, less than 500 decks will be available. Other than ordering info/price $10.95 +$5 shipping each), there aren't any more details relating to the deck itself in the e-mail.

Looking at the box, it seems that the difference is only color related.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

Actually, they're probably using metallic gold ink, which would make it a little jazzier, if you like that sort of thing.

I'm just curious about how they convinced USPC to make a deck run of only 500...unless there's far more than 500 made.

Will USPCC do a split run on a 5,000 deck minimum order? For example, 3,500 of a "normal" edition, and 1,500 of a "special" (different tuck, different seat, but with the same card design) version of the same deck? Or maybe they will do an additional limited run once you meet the minimum for that finish?

The NECRONOMICON deck made me wonder about that scenario. 5,000 standard decks (Bee), and then USPC produced a 1,500 deck limited run of the foil tuck edition.

I'm not familiar with card production with USPC, so this is all just thinking out loud. Just curious.

USPC would charge them out as separate print runs.  They might cut you a break on the second run, especially if you didn't change the faces, but they'd charge for two runs.  Bohemia did that when they created their second deck color.  The faces were identical between the decks, so they got a deal.

Not too jazzed about it. the ritual deck was nice, but I wouldn't smack more cash down for a recolor. Considering how they originally said they would make the boxes foil embossed, I wouldn't count on them to make this a metallic deck. I'm sure this will be awesome for some people though.

They're taking pre-orders on a new deck now, Ritual Premier.

http://eliteplayingcards.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=57&product_id=57

It appears to be a different product from the Ritual Gold Edition.

The Premier decks are actually in stock now. We were updated on the Majestic Kickstarter project with the following:

…we have just released our new deck Ritual Premier (it’s already printed see attached picture). It’s $9.95 plus shipping, if you want to get it contact us at: support@eliteplayingcards.com (…we will ship them within 2-3 weeks to everyone who orders now)

They look like this....

This is also the third deck in a trilogy.

Ritual, Divine, Premier.

Kinda odd they didn't give much info on this one considering the other two projects were funded through kickstarter. They may have their hands tied up with Majestic but still weak way to release.

I agree. Like I said it is pretty weak on how they released it. Kind of odd since it is not cheap to produce these decks. Hopefully we hear more soon.

Well, the website is listing them as pre-orders.  I remember something similar with the Skulkor deck.  They claimed the deck was all printed and ready to roll, when meanwhile they gave a delivery time of 6-8 weeks - and even failed to meet that deadline, claiming a problem with some of the boxes for their premium sets.  A good number of people canceled their orders because of that one.  I've never touched a Skulkor deck since, though they did mail me a joker card from it for some reason...

My point being, they could be stating that it's available now, but are using the funds to pay for the actual printing - but bear in mind this is strictly a guess and not based on solid evidence.
