So, we got our 100th backer and $2000 pledge.
The start was far less successful than we expected. If you still didn't spread the word about us, you can do this just by sharing the following link:
http://umdesigns.net/share/index.html

Thank you everyone for your help!

PS. BTW, in a couple of days we will make an artwork update.

I proudly back this project, and love the 2-way back redesign.

I wait with bated breath for the art updates to see the new court cards as they are released.

-------------------------------------------------

Quick note: I love the look of the released King of Diamond card, but can't help but wonder if the point of the diamond is obscuring the polar bear quite a bit.

Please delete, I just realised this was a double post and can't find the button to do it myself.

Man, you managed to be faster than me lol.

To be more specific, here is an update:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello everyone!
We will update the project with our new artwork and materials as soon as we can. And this is a first update where we want to show you the new King of Diamonds design!
As we promised, it represents a traditional Russian king. You can see a Monomakh's Hat - a traditional Russian crown upon him.
The work with this deck does not stop even for a second!
Thank you!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And about the diamond and bear. Looks like that's why he's so angry!  ;)

If I may ask one question, could you please explain the 'Backer's Edition' a bit more.

What happens if you don't get enough backers pledging on the Siberian Tiger or Ice Queen level? Also, is the Ice Queen pledge level for the Ace of Spades card? As the 12 courts and both Jokers are already filled by the Siberia Tiger pledge level.

Just a couple of thoughts I suddenly had as I was reading through the project.

If we'll not get enough Tigers, the missing pictures will be replaced with the same from the standard deck.
In the worst case Backer's edition will turn into very very limited full plastic edition of a standard deck. But I hope this will not happen.
And about the ICE QUEEN, we decided to get rid of it.

Hello, everyone!
Unfortunately, our project's funding is going far worse than it was expected.
The only decision we can take is to cancel it for now. But don't be too upset. We are leaving to be back. We will continue working and come back to Kickstarter when our Winter Deck will be much closer to completion. It will happen in about 3 months.
Thank you everyone for your help.

Don't cancel the project!

It will give a bad impression, as though you suspected it would fail all along. Instead, let the project run it's course, have unsuccessful funding, then relaunch in about a month's time. When the project is done, post an update thanking all your backers, and promise to return in a month's time.

This could also allow you to complete another card to launch with. In this case, I suggest one of the two remaining suits (Clubs and Hearts). This will allow you to do another animal at the same time, probably best to pick KoC, QoC or KoH, as these are the felines of the courts. You could do the JoH, but since there's only 1 court card with the Ermine on it, and 3 feline cards, you're probably better off going for the cats.

Hope this helps, and I look forward to your relaunch.

It's never a good idea to launch without a completed design.  People want to see what they're buying.  It's like buying a car by getting to peek at it through a curtain.

It is a shame, but I'm not sure if a full deck is something alot of artists doing their first KS project want to do. Though I do see your point, and have argued with people from your PoV about people wanting something they can see, so they know what they're funding, but the counter-argument is that the point of 'crowd-sourcing' is to gain support for an idea. Not too many people really want to put in all the effort to produce something, which ultimately, just isn't very popular.

I think that in this instance, perhaps having AT LEAST half the courts completed, and launching with those, with regular updates including new courts every few days.

In the end, not my project, just an 'if it were me' perspective.

That presumes you can complete a court card every few days.  You'd finish the court set before the project ended anyway - why not simply have a finished product out of the gate?  But if that wasn't the speed at which you could produce courts, you might run into the same issue Lance Miller ran into when he created the Bicycle Actuators Artist's Edition.  His project was delayed on delivering by several weeks because he miscalculated how long it would take him to complete the courts.

Better to deliver on time - better yet, deliver early.  Have the art not just ready to roll, but vetted by USPC and just waiting for the contract to be signed.  They do work with KS project creators, even before the deck is funded.
