I just noticed something new in the 808 VIP shop: Cigar Uncut Sheets.  Didn't see any cigar decks, though.

Looks cool as an uncut sheet, not a fan of entirely colored backs since they tend to chip with use.

Collectors will love it.  I think they look nice, though it's nothing I'd use for magic.  Then again, these days I don't use a lot of my custom decks for magic!

I do certain tricks in my routine that involve hiding one inverted card in a deck.  Decks with a white border on the front and a black border on the back will make an inverted card stand out enough to get noticed by a spectator.

Yea, I do trick when I can for something like that. But I try to use custom decks when I can.

Ok, so are these a club only uncut only? Are they jjust being released BEFORE the Cigar Decks? I may be over thinking things, but this seems very unusual. Think of it...a club-only uncut WITHOUT an associated "normal" deck! Bicycle has impressed me greatly with Club 808 so far, maybe they're having fun and shaking things up a bit. USPCC, keep it going!

The deck looks pretty interesting. Especially with the back design. I wonder what spawned it's creation? At only $10, it costs as much as a regular deck would.

I've seen images of a forthcoming Cigar deck.  I may pass on it - I make it a rule not to collect decks that promote alcohol or tobacco.  Too many people I know died way too young because of both.  But then again, there's no actual tobacco product being promoted - no brand being sold other than USPC, and I didn't even see the courts smoking cigars.  I have to give it more thought.

The court art is reminiscent of the art found on cigar bands.

+1 (with the exception of some Jack Daniel's decks).

+ 1

This is an interesting deck.

Well, according to tracking provided by the USPS, my Bicycle Cigar uncut sheets are being picked up deep within the eastern side of the country of Turkey! They'll be delivered on Monday though! :-) ROFL!

The USPS reported that the item was accepted at 53700. My tracking app assumes that's a 5 digit zip, and the postal code for Findikli(?) Turkey is 53700, so my app is saying that the uncuts are on their way from Turkey! :-) A simple mistake, I know, but still pretty funny!

All this begs for your expert opinion...what cards handle the best? Ohio, Kentucky, or Findikli, Turkey?! :-)

It also belongs to a city in France...  And I think it's in Madison, WI, but I can't tell for certain...  Bizarre...

Well, as crushed and absolutely destroyed as the ultra-thin, cheapo cardboard box shipping box was when it made it to me, I'd vote that it came from Turkey, and was run over by every mail vehicle between there and here. Had it been a tube, they would have survived. USPCC is getting lazy with their shipping materials. Time to file a damage claim...

my sheets arrived today....damaged as well.  The cardboard shipping tube is too short for the width of the uncut sheets AND the two end caps, resulting in bending and tearing the edges of the sheets as the end caps are placed into the cardboard tube.  I've attached photos below and sent an email to the company.

Anyone else with similar problems?

Absolutely!

Well, I have to give credit where it is due. Even though they used a cheap, thin box to ship them, they were very gracious when I called to file a claim yesterday. I told them that it was an inadequate box, and that both sheets has multiple creases, and the finish/ink/had flaked/chipped off of one sheet. They apologized, confirmed my order number, and put in a replacement order, all in about 30 seconds. The order was showing as picked up 3 hours later. If they would have done things properly the first time, this wouldn't have happened at all, but kudos to them for taking care of the issue, with absolutely no hassle, in a VERY quick fashion. Thank you!

On a side note, the sheets actually shipped, or so the label indicates, from Wisconsin.

Pics below. The box was creased and crushed on all sides. Not stiff cardboard, but very thin, with one piece of tape closing each end. The flaking/cracking pic is a sample. Both sheets had many areas like that on the backs of the sheets.

My Griffin uncuts were in a VERY sturdy tube, with the end caps taped on. I'm not sure what has happened between then and now. I might have sped through the system so quickly due to the fact that they may be getting MANY complaints. Just a thought.

A source in the company told me they went with an outside firm based near Madison, WI for fulfillment on this, and they're not happy with the results.  My source mentioned that USPC is already looking for a way to prevent this issue and fix the problems that have already occurred.  If you got a damaged sheet and haven't already done so, contact USPC's Customer Service Dept.

UPDATE:  I've already heard back from costumer service and they have already sent me replacements.  They were very apologetic and professional to work with and were sure to inform the warehouse manager of the problem.  You're right, they are working with a company in Middleton, WI.

@BiggerDee, so strange they would just put the sheets in a box like that.  Mine was in a cardboard tube..but the sheets weren't placed in the tube with care...so when the end caps were placed on the tube...it smashed the edges of the sheets.  I don't think the shipping company knew fully how to handle the merchandise.

I received my replacement sheets yesterday and they were in a tube. In the same box. Surrounded by packing paper. Overkill, but they obviously were trying to make things right. Problem is, they rolled the sheets (2), slid them into the tube, and then just pounded the end cap in. The folded over one corner of both sheets. Not to a point of creasing, but enough that most folks would return them. Since it's a standard release sheet that I bought for fun, I'm ok with it since there's no hard crease line. Were it an Ornate or other highly collectible sheet, I would have asked for a replacement.

I think of an uncut like a piece of art - not a poster but more like an art print or a lithograph.  Under no circumstances should they arrive in the condition they are, even after attempting to rectify the problem.  This is terrible.  Uncut sheets of limited edition decks are not exactly plentiful or easily replaced - there's no reason why they should arrive damaged or compromised in any way.  I've had three instances of an uncut being mailed to me, and not once did any of the horror stories you guys have been relaying to me here come to pass - it was done right the first time and showed up intact and perfect.

All these photos are making me want to stop buying uncut sheets! I'm glad you were able to get the problem rectified guys! There are still a few things I want to buy from Club 808. some good stuff there. Never do I ever want an uncut sheet to arrive like that *Shiver down spine* I recently received an uncut sheet and the tube was a bit bent. Luckily there was more room in the tube than usual (USPCC Made it tighter and put rubber bands round each end) So the uncut only got a tiny dent in it :)
