Some of my fight cards get too verbose.  I'll keep this simple.

Two government-themed decks - one for, the other against.  Both have black boxes with a fair amount of foil, custom deck seals and a black-on-white back.  (Both had cheesy ad campaigns, too, if I recall!)

So go for it, gang - see which deck makes you answer the call to arms!  (Hey, if the ads can be cheesy, so can I.)  :))

I like the Rebels, especially the box.  The design seems more intricate.

I'm going with the Rebels.  I thought I'd get into the weird-looking pips on the Sultan Republic, but the fact that their dark red is nearly the same shade as the black makes it a little tougher to use.  Plus it was perhaps the third deck in a row that used the same font in the indices, Artifice and LTD being the first two.  In fact, fix the pip colors and make the pips standard, and you've got the faces of a pack of LTDs right there.

The Rebels have a bit less chrome, creating more contrasts, as well as a matte-finish box.  The seal more closely resembled a tax stamp, and the Capitol building on the back reminded me of Congress and Senate brands from the old days before I was born.  It's a little odd that they didn't include the actual name of the deck anywhere on the tuck box except for the image of the card back, but it actually works.

In short, Rebels look old-school while Sultan Republic looks faux-school...

i d go with the sultans, cause i liked the pips.

And yet, curiously enough, it's nearly a half-hour after your post and NO ONE has voted Sultans!  Did you forget that part?  :))

I am going with sultans. I love the whole hidden map thing they did with it.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

I like the back design of the Sultans more than the Rebels.

Welp, the Sultan's herringbone pips were definitely new and neat. The hidden contest was clever too. But the rebels looked less odd in flourishes and tricks. It also seems like more artistic effort was put into the Rebels, whereas the Sultans were more concerned about the pip gimmick. Also, I'm a huge fan of that propaganda-urban-currency style the Rebels employed, like some of Shepard Fairey's stuff. The Rebels look great next to one of Fairey's art prints, too. Plus, the style was more cohesive, the feel was a bit smoother, and they were really the first commercial deck to incorporate the "modern" tax seal.

It's looking like a close contest.  But we do have seven commenters but only six votes IN THE POLL...  Someone's failure to vote IN THE POLL could make the difference between victory and defeat for their chosen deck... (cough-MAGIMAGO-cough)

I've voted sultans because (i think) i don't own the rebels. But the sultans also look real nice and I love the foil and embossing on the tuck box, and the pips.
My mom always said I'd be great at something. Who'd have thought that something would be zombie killin'.
