The Spare Room here in Hollywood at The Roosevelt Hotel teamed up with Jim Henson Company to throw a Fraggle Rock 30th anniversary party the other night.  From it came this really nice, completely custom deck of limited edition playing cards.  They are selling them on their website.  My guess is that only printed 2500.

The tuck box color is a bit off in the graphics on the site but the actual product is quite beautiful. I've posted a few photos on my instagram: http://instagram.com/thecardcatalog

those are them.....thanks for posting them @GBAllison, i was running short on time last night.  Like the JAQK deck, every card is custom.  I personally think they did a great job with this.  If you ever get the chance to go to the Spare Room it's one of my favorite spots in Hollywood.

$16.29 ($26.29 total price for 1 deck) to ship 1 deck across the country via UPS...I'll be passing on this one.

BTW, that was the least expensive option.

If you bought more than one, the shipping wouldn't increase, up to a point.

Why no USPS option?  Does it really even cost UPS to ship a deck of cards that much money?  Insane.  I'd love a deck but I'm out.  Don, you should buy a brick and sell some to us at discounted shipping.

Good things come to those that wait...I decided to just go ahead and spend the money for these and lo and behold the shipping dropped by $3.  Not a lot, but I'll take it.  It's a mother's day gift for my wife, who is not my mother but treats me like a child.  :-[

I rechecked my shipping - for two decks it was a few bucks less than you were being charged for one.

Unfortunately, I have to get creative because I have a Post Office box and UPS doesn't ship to them.  However, I got word of a new service for PO Box renters where you can convert your box into an actual street address and the PO will accept your UPS/FedEx/DHL/etc. deliveries for you.  I need to check into to this, sooner rather than later - and I think it's free, too, though that might apply to me because I'm renting the largest box size they have.  Another perq is that you wouldn't need to sign for packages anymore - a huge plus to someone with night hours and 24-hour access to the PO boxes in the lobby!

True, but I didn't want more than one. I understand how international buyers feel about KS projects (and shipping in general) now!

I just got my decks today. Love em, can't stop dancing!

Heads up to anyone familiar with theory 11's Sentinels will recognize the pips and layout, I just did a side by side comparison and the Fraggle deck has slightly smaller pips in a different color. I am assuming that (Sentinels artist) Hatch Design in San Francisco had a large hand in the project.

Don, check out ups's new service "UPS Innovations". They handle the package until its destination then transfer it over to usps for delivery. Not sure if this helps but I hope it does.

I should be able to work it out with the post office - although the woman I need to talk to about it never seems to be available.  She's on vacation, at lunch, in the bathroom, fell off the face of the earth, etc....

I was about to ask you why you were trying to buy a sold-out deck...until I realized it's no longer sold out.  I just ordered a pair for myself!

They probably use Priority Mail International because a) it's faster and b) it has some degree of tracking - definitely tracked within the US, maybe-maybe-not outside the US.

You need to find one of those mail consolidation services - there are companies in the US that specifically deal with people outside of the country receiving packages from the US.  They would provide you with a US address, allowing you to mail-order whatever you want for domestic shipping/mailing rates, then consolidate your orders into a single package for shipment to you overseas at a reduced rate from what most stores charge for international shipping.  They charge a fee, of course, but then you have the option of bundling everything you want in the US into a single package shipped by the method of your choosing.  If you're getting into playing card collecting, particularly brands from US Playing Card Company, you should check into mail consolidation.

Many USA shop shipping in Ukraine with USPS First Class Mail Intl / First Class Package Intl Service. This real work.
Consolidate orders - very long time.

If it's any consolation to you, US orders are also given only the one choice - Priority Mail.  The simple fact is, though, that a Priority Mail International package will in most of civilization arrive within a week, while a First Class package can take roughly two months.

What part of Ukraine are you in?  My wife grew up in Kharkov.

You're fortunate - I've heard people elsewhere report much long waits.  But Priority Mail is still a fraction of that time.
