Hello everyone,

my name is Anes (pronounced ENNIS)  and I am designing my second deck of playing cards.   I would like to introduce to you a concept design I made that gives you a glimpse of my vision and artwork.

I would like to explain my concept a little bit with you.  My inspiration came from my love for fantasy and medieval times.  I am a big fan of knights and armor so my Court cards will be based on fantasy kings and queens.  For example my king of diamonds is the Dragon King, so I drew the diamond pip with a dragon logo inside of it as the King's Symbol.  All court cards will have their own unique look and story.

I would love some feedback and suggestions, thank you for checking this out.

your name sounds like anus.

Those are some big ol' diamonds, that's for sure. The theme definitely has potential.

Is this the same one that is on Jump Start City?
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

IMHO:

- Make designed pips smaller and move them closer to the corners of the card;

- Move each figure closer to the center of the card;

- Make embellishments under indices longer;

- Remove flag from the king’s head;

- Make that chain mail around his neck less 2D more 3D;

- There is something wrong with the upper part of his plate armor;

- Move the protective element of the helmet closer to king’s nose;

- Draw a normal beard. It looks like a bath sponge slapped on his face + it gives him childish appearance;

- There is a lot of empty space on the grey background. Use darker grey lines to draw a castle, ship, dragon, etc;

- I think there is something wrong with reflection of light on his armor. I am not an expert. Try to ask Randy (Midnight cards – Ornates playing cards). In case of free time I think he will help with his advice. He is an expert in such questions.

Good luck.

Like shipping all the decks that people paid for on your Kickstarter project.

I have been working with the few backers that did not receive their rewards.  Out of almost 900 backers, I had some mix ups with shipping with a small handful.

That link Ben has is truly terrifying reading for any potential backers. I think you should sort those complaints out before jumping into any other project.
I'll wait and see how you solve the complaints from your first project, before I give my advice on this one.
I think communication is rather important.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
After reading some of the complaints on the Stealth Playing Cards project at Kickstarter and noticing the appalling paucity of responses to the concerns of backers, I feel compelled to lock this topic until some reasonable explanation is provided and some form of resolution is brought to AKGraphx's present backers.  Anes, please feel free to update us on your PREVIOUS project as news becomes available - hopefully sooner rather than later.
