Favorite Tuck Box

The Discourse is quiet tonight.  It's quite evident that Don is on vacation.   . I couldn't find a thread for this so I thought I'd start it.  I don't open most of my decks so I pretty much just enjoy the tuck boxes and pictures on the Internet.  Anyway, what is your favorite tuck box design?  Pictures are welcomed.  Have at it!

The Seasons deck tuck was very innovative and unique, it is one that jumps to my mind right away. I quite like the original Monarch tuck design, even some of my buddies who don't know much about playing cards knew about the Monarch deck at release just because of what the box looked liked and how "cool" it was compared to the regular playing card boxes they are used to.

Monarchs, Artisans, JAQKs, Madison players, Archangels definitely have the most aesthetically pleasing tuck boxes as well as feel/texture. In my opinion, Some decks such as the White Knuckles and Blue Bloods failed to create tuck boxes that did justice to the wonderful cards inside, which is a shame really. I know a lot of people don't care about tuck box texture/aesthetics but to me it's a huge aspect of a well designed overall deck of playing cards (Blue Bloods are an exception though because the card designs really are just THAT good).

Honourable tuck case mentions go to Smoke and Mirrors, Madison Rounders, Aurum (Gold/Laser), Luxury Crowns, and definitely Paul's upcoming Deco (White only in my opinion).

The Aurum's box is indeed amazing. I still have the lower part of the cellophane to protect the laser cutting. It would be a disaster if it were ruined!

I also love the Stranger & Stranger box and the Smoke & Mirrors V7 Smoke box.

Also, as a side note, I really love it when people do interesting stuff with the tuck box. Like the Ghoul Note's book tuck.

I like anything that's got an interesting and unique look/feel. Most of the tucks mentioned I really like, cant think of any decks that can really add to the discussion...

How can no one mention the original DeckOne box?!

1. It was the FIRST deck to have a super thick tuck case. It and the Sentinels arguably kicked off the custom tuck trend.

2. The original (not the shitty reprints) had a cool paint on it that would RUB OFF over time in your pocket (it didn't stain) and thus the dark gun-metal tuck would eventually turn into stainless steel. (The reprints didn't have this unique feature, they came without the gun metal ink and were stainless steal-esque right off the bat.

3. It's made from IMPORTED FRENCH PAPER (just kidding, T11 marketed this as some kind of feature but nobody gave a shit because it was a fucking GUN METAL BOX)

I should also add that I like somewhat simplified tuck boxes. I liked the executive deck box. I would have to say that Aurum is my all time favorite though, simple AND textured/unique. Can't ask for much more than that.

This might not technically be a tuck box, but my Bicycle Prestige deck gets more comments about the box than any other deck I have.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I try my best. I'm actually doing a few changes to the Deco boxes right now, trying to make them even cooler than before.

This might not technically be a tuck box, but my Bicycle Prestige deck gets more comments about the box than any other deck I have.

I thought Prestige boxes were cool, until I realized how impractical they are for carrying around.  The box tends to slide open of its own accord and it's massive compared to a standard poker deck's box.

I'm fond of the flip-top boxes (they're not technically tucks) that Bent Castle used on the Deck of Extraordinary Voyages and the Pegleg Pete's deck.  They're like the flip-top boxes used for cigarettes, but super-thick for deck protection.  They're also oversized, but not to the same degree, and you pretty much don't need a deck clip.
