A Canadian themed deck of cards featuring top Canadian magicians as the court cards, and other symbolic Canadian icons throughout.I have been a deck collector for quite a while now, and have yet to find a Canadian deck that isn't filled with stock photos of scenery (basically a souvenir deck). So, having combined that fact and my passion for playing cards, I have designed a deck of playing cards with a Canadian theme. The deck will feature maple leaves instead of the the typical spade suit. The suit colours will be two shades of red (bright red, and maroon), instead of red & black like in a typical deck of cards. The most customization for the deck can be found on the court cards. I have featured nine world famous Canadian magicians. They are (in alphabetic order): Bill Abbott

I wasn't hating the deck until it got to sports.... Other than hokey and curling, is Canada known for sports? And basketball could arguably be considered invented by ancient mayans using the cut off the head of your enemy rules. I'm all for Canadian pride but I would rather have seen the suits themed: Comedians, Magicians, Atheletes and Scientists and then make the Jokers a Hockey Player and a Curling throw... I think that would have drawn a much larger audience. Just my opinion, and we all know what opinions are like...

He had three leftover faces - he chose what many guys, including magicians, like: sports. Aside from Canadian football, three of the most popular sports in Canada would be exactly what he chose. At least he left out curling... I'm just surprised that he left out magicians like Lee Asher and Billy the Kid.

And he's left out Jay Sankey
I would love a really well done Canadian themed deck, too bad this isn't quite it. As others have said, the back isn't too bad, it has potential but the art could use some more work and refinement. I would rather that the court cards not be catered towards magicians and be more representative of Canada. Even though the international shipping rates are insane... I must say it is nice to see a deck say "free Canadian shipping", even if it is for a deck that I won't be pledging for.
