New deck on Kickstarter: Simple Playing Cards.

I'm considering moving the chart, making it the last post instead of constantly re-editing the first post.  This would provide a better historical record as to what the deck world was doing on a particular day and allow people to research past deck releases in the future.  It also allows me to simplify the KS active projects chart since I wouldn't need to list historical results anymore - they'd be in the topic, viewable by any interested party.

I'm asking people to submit your opinions - are you for the idea, against it or totally indifferent?  Please state the reasons behind your position on the topic.

From Guy Himber, the designer of the legally-defunct Steampunk Heroes Lego-themed deck and the forthcoming REDUX version of said deck, comes a new KS project, slated to begin on KS in either January (if you read the topic title) or February (if you read the first post): the Freakies!  It looks like part of an ad campaign for a kids' cereal from the late '70s/early '80s designed to take the popularity of Garbage Pail Kids to the breakfast table.  You gotta admit - it's a unique idea, and a doozy at that...

I received my copy of the Pedale Design/Misc. Goods deck, and I'm thinking I'm not the only one, so I'm removing it from the list of completed KS projects.

WARNING: BIG NEWS AHEAD

Starting with this "issue", I'm moving the NDR charts to the LAST post I make.  This will mean that there will be a running history of the NDR, allowing people to look back and research past deck releases.  For charts that haven't been changed at all from the previous posting, I'll delete them from the next-to-most-new post when I create the new post, so there's not a zillion identical charts all over the place and you're always looking at the most recent info on the current post.

What's that mean?  Let's pretend I made a change in the Company Projects today and no new changes occur until Sunday.

TODAY (WEDNESDAY): new chart with changes.
THURSDAY: post copy of chart.
FRIDAY: delete Thursday's copy, post same chart today
SATURDAY: delete Friday's copy, post same chart today
SUNDAY: delete Saturday's copy, post changed chart today.
MONDAY: post copy of chart.
TUESDAY: delete Monday's copy, post same chart today.
ad infinitum...applied to all the other charts as well in the same manner...

You'll have a historical copy of all the changes without multiple copies of all the unchanged charts!  And the current post will have all the charts so you don't have to hunt for them.

Today's changes:
As expected, the Antarctica Photo Shoot failed in spectacular fashion, raising only £30 of its £7,500 goal.
When we have enough of a history on the KS chart changes, I'll remove the past totals from the chart, retaining the change totals for the day and for the week.  I can even add change totals for longer periods, such as "last fortnight".

New KS project - Bicycle "The Lumberjacks", a backwoods-themed deck.

New KS project - Double Edged Poker, an online steampunk-themed poker app with a custom deck of cards.

Earlier this week, David Blaine released a 37-card gaff deck for the red and blue White Lions brand - they're being sold in conjunction with two of his leather deck clips.  22 clips are available, each with one deck.  The brown ones are $150, while the black ones are $200 and come with a small wallet suitable for holding up to 20 playing cards.  Get 'em while they last - they're listed as "DB Leather Clips", not "White Lions Gaff Decks".

Got some cool news for today...

First of all, the Bicycle Lucent deck from Sean Whelan is now live on Kickstarter.

Second, there's another new deck project, Dicecards, that's worth a look-see for anyone even remotely interested in tabletop paper-n-pencil gaming.  I don't even play anymore and I want one.  It's that geek-cool.

Third, Randy Butterfield at Midnight Playing Cards has many irons in the fire right now.  He's got a new project in development based on Faberge eggs.  He's got a project he's working on for another company that's due out in a week.  AND he's releasing new Ornate decks...  Busy little beaver, ain'tcha?

Slow news day today.  E is running some sweet specials, including two-fers on prize cards and Black Artifice decks when you join the Black Club.  D&D have their new "Mystery Deck" deal - $5.95 for a paper-wrapped deck; could be a Fulton's Chinatown, could be a Jerry's Nugget, could be anything in-between; over 100 varieties taken from the Bucks' personal reserve.

The KS project for Stealth ends in about NINE hours.

Ah, more news...

T11 released the Animal Kingdom Deck today.

TBC and Midnight Cards announced that the Luxury Crown deck is the secret project that Randy at Midnight Cards has been working on for another company, and it comes out Wednesday (Boxing Day) at 8pm US Eastern (that's 01:00 Thursday UTC), with a kick-off special for a shot at the "handmade" version of the deck with gilded edges and a real metal plate on the box signed by hand by Alex Pandrea.

As I write this, the Luxury Crown deck has NOT yet been released!  I'm going out for a movie with my wife and will be out when it happens...  I'm posting this around 7pm Wed US Eastern/00:00 Thu UTC, but I'm going to remove it anyway, since we all know it's coming out at 8pm, right?    Hey, I'm a husband first, a moderator second, as it should be...

Starting with the next report, I'm going to start listing a pre-order date and a release date for all company project decks.  The lag time for some projects between pre-release and release is so great that not doing so makes them difficult to keep track of.
