I'm very happy to know that Erik Mana is going to launch a new edition of his well known deck..
After a very good start with the beautiful Mana Deck, according to his FB page, the V2 will be produced after successful funding on Kickstarter.
The new version name will be Zinfandel, which is a variety of red grape.
According to the information posted on the page "While we have kept some elements from the original Oracle, we have made some awesome changes with the box and back design including two new colors". One of the colours, I imagine, is the red that we can see on the seal in the picture.
No more info was released and the date was not announced, so for now I'll wait with great expectations!

Nope - if he's going with wine colors, the next will be gold, like a fine champagne...  :))

Hey, the first was silver - it makes sense!

Erik Mana's decks are amongst my favourite.

I'm a proud owner of a dozen signed decks of the Oracle edition, a sheet and more! Perhaps my best purchase. The sheet was the first I had framed and usually takes center stage in the collection.

Do you guys consider the Oracle edition a good collectable? It seems to have more than held its price.

Were the verve decks quick to sell out? - I wasn't paying attention.

And do you think the new editions will be popular too?

Very well noticed. Mistake corrected!

About what you said earlier, I think the Oracle edition is indeed a good colectible item with an increased value.

If it's based on wine colours, would the obvious colour not be white?

I have to agree with Don. With a name like Zinfandel for red, the other color will most likely cover the white/light side of wine. I don't really like the name Zinfandel though.

While we have kept some elements from the original Oracle, we have made some awesome changes with the box and back design

I'm glad he said that, I really like the Mana deck but would hope for more than just a new color. Can't wait to see more.

I've had the same thoughts; it'd be nice to see something more than just a colour change. I think the Mana deck is pretty cool especially with how the metallic inks are used in the back design for great effects. I'm hoping the Zinfandel does something cool with metallic inks as well as part of its design.

I LOVED the Mana deck. Too bad I missed out on the originals.

This is shaping up very nice, though.

I stand behind my original guess. The facebook cover page has a blue seal. Erik's first thought while creating Oracle was to have a BLUE clone to the silver.. I dont think my guess is too out of the 'blue' (pun intended). :)

Elan Rouge sold out fast.  The colors became successively less popular.  Brio Blue and Shine Yellow are still in stock.  Most people loved the leather look back with the red deck, were a little cool to it with the blue deck, and really weren't fond of the yellow's leather look.  I thought they were fine, really.

Its funny you mentioned the Verve decks Don, I just came across them and really love the look. I can see how the Red was well accepted, but I see nothing wrong with the Blue or Yellow. Actually the Blue and Yellow...IMO, lend themselves better to the tuck box color than the Red.

Back on topic.........I would love something in a red metallic.

It was the "leather look".  The deck back design looks like the kind of high-end leather you'd see in a luxury sports car.  The red really looked like leather, but many people felt that was less so of the blue and completely unbelievable in the yellow.  I disagreed, since I've seen such colors leathers in things like expensive watch bands.

I'm betting few of our membership has ever been inside of one of those bad boys.  Hell, many of them don't even have driver's licenses yet!  :))

So, any guesses about what the cards will actually look like and why "Zinfandel" was the chosen name?

Now we know why it's called "Zinfandel".  I wish the photos were sharper.  I'm thinking they're nice, but not as nice as the original Mana deck, but maybe a sharper photo will change my mind.  And we have yet to see any faces...

With what there is to see so far I'm liking them, not as much as the Original Mana deck as Don stated, but we'll see what the rest of the project holds and how it unfolds, definitely on the radar.

Pictures of the tuck, back and aces taken from Mana Playing Cards Facebook page. I'm really liking how it's all looking. There's nice elements from the first Mana deck, but the back looks completely redrawn to me. The Aces are looking really nice. A part of me wishes those pips are used for the regular pip cards, but I guess that's wait to be seen kind of thing.
