The whole copyright thing can be a pain in the @$$, really. Say you have a great deck idea. You chat about it, post it in a forum, great, right? Then someone with deeper pockets than you decides they want to pound on your idea and "claim jump" you with a nearly identical (if not totally identical) deck. Sure, the law is on your side, but since when would the average Kickstarter project creator have the cash to sue a copyright thief? These are people who literally held their hats in their hands just to get their decks made. It would end up in the courts for years, sucking on your bank account and your soul.
(And to think I used to be so optimistic...
