Hi everybody!
I'm Mercer from overstock playing cards, a new Canadian card company trying their luck at Kickstarter. Along with my friend Sam, we hope to bring our designs to the world. We're both high school students who are avid card collectors, and I myself am a competent (I think) cardist. Our first design, colourblind, is a very minimalist deck themed around the Cold War. We are new to this forum, and we're excited to become a part of the community.
Check out the deck on Kickstarter:

Comments, questions, and even just greetings are welcome.

Canada! I love my country! My city, not as much right now (Thanks a lot, Rob Ford), but my country is awesome!

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

I can see you and Tom here will have plenty to talk about...  :))

Welcome to the Discourse, and please, make yourself comfortable.  I know a few of the guys were a bit harsh in their judgments of your deck, but it helps to remember a) that you can't please everyone, b) it's never meant personally, we're just passionate about our shared hobby, and c) for a deck to REALLY succeed in a huge way, you need to make a design with mass appeal - meaning that you should take our opinions for what they're worth (some won't be worth much!) and use that as a stepping-off point to create something with a much broader audience in mind than just us folks.

Once you get to know these characters, you'll come to think of them as I do, like friends.  :))

Yeah, I know that. I didn't take it personally. It just takes getting used to dealing with criticism. I'm gonna take the good advice I get. Also, if I wanted a deck with mass appeal, I would've designed one. I don't really care about massive success. I like weird designery things. It's about releasing my idea into the world.
