  • Charm gets you quite far. Guile gets you the rest.
The hard edged pips are not working for me. I like the simple English-Laundry-inspired look the backs have however, even using the background 'fence' pattern. I'm not terribly fond of the highlighting of the wings on the copper deck but I'm always interested in a novelty deck, I wonder how thin the cards are going to be individually..

Edit: Just saw it listed as .03mm thickness.

Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

The people who handle playing cards are always in a world of delicate fingertip technology.

I'm not sure how I feel about these.  Interesting concept but trying to raise 30K for it?  I'm just not feeling it or it's practicality.

That's the same thing that I thought about the carbon fiber cards but they quickly made a fool of me by how fast they were snapped up. I like the real copper cards but wow, that price. That's a nice chunk that I could put towards more JNuggs.

My first thought was, "USPC is printing metal cards?". ....and no, they are not. The body of the project is a little deceiving. No where does it say paper cards except one quick blurb about "3 finishes Copper, Stainless Steel, and Paper with a magic finish", and on the pledge levels. The 2 Bicycle tucks say Stainless Steel & Copper. I'm assuming the card backs that are shown are of the metal cards- so what will the paper cards look like? The description of the cards at the bottom do not say anything about paper.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

This is another project I can easily pass on.  It's a novelty that I'm not interested in.

I have seen other metal decks in the past.  I've been told by people who bought them they scratch way too easily.

I'm not a fan of the design, but I'm a little tempted just because the material is different. I probably won't pledge, though.

I did pledge for the carbon fiber cards. Still on the fence about that one...

I'll keep a close eye to see how it progresses, but as has been said previously - it's too much of a novelty for me personally.

[...] The body of the project is a little deceiving. No where does it say paper cards except one quick blurb about "3 finishes Copper, Stainless Steel, and Paper with a magic finish", and on the pledge levels.

Actually, I thought he did a great job in the pledge levels. Each and every one is very explicit about what you're getting ... paper or metal.  (Other project creators have not been so clear, and they waste their first 50 comments trying to explain what the pledges are :-)

But I agree that the tuck boxes are misleading ... they make it look like there's metal inside when there really isn't.  Also, there's not a lot of info on what the paper cards will look like.  (Well unless those pictures *are* of the paper cards and there are no pix of the metal cards :-)

P.S. I loved the suggestion of one commenter--to offer a random card in (backer's choice of) real metal.  I'd be intrigued about buying one card, but gotta buy a whole deck, at that price?  It's a novelty pass for me too.  (I need my budget for Virts 2 :-)
