With Xmas behind us and keeping in the tradition of "Its better to give then receive", what was the best present you GAVE this year?

Mine was a Wacom tablet for my 15 year old daughter, she is very into art and creativity and she didn't expect it at all. So much so she didn't even put it on her list because "There is no way I'm getting this", the look on her face and the time I spent with her Xmas day showing her everything it could do was priceless.

Aw that's cool :) what did she get you?

I don't celebrate christmas but I did partake in a secret santa at work. I got my mate a signed aston villa football (the perks of working on match days) and a personalised dressing room photo as well.

I actually got an IOU from her stating that my "Project" was still in production, but a "Source" told me she picked up a blank deck of Bikes and she's working on a custom deck for me.........I truly can't wait to see it.  :)

I got my friend a limited edition vinyl of one of his favorite bands. It hasn't arrived yet, so I can't gauge his reaction but I know he's been wanting it. It wouldn't ship to where I live so I had to ship it to my aunt in the states and have her mail it here, which she has not yet been able to do due to a snowstorm... I had plans to get my brother a PS4 but that didn't fall through. Maybe sometime in the near future...

  • I like birds.

  • Kickstarter:
I volunteer for ski patrol at PCMR, so I get a few free lift passes.

I gave them all to my aunt and cousin, who were visiting from New York. They had a blast.

An engagement ring, on two separate occasions.

Performing for sick children in a hospital on Christmas Day.

Congratulations Don!! I too am fairly recently engaged.

I gave a trip to hawaii and a skydiving jump to my fiancee.
Starting to get better...have to stay dedicated...can't lose any more cards in the middle of a trick.  Literally, completely lost a card.

I think the best present given out in our family was to my mom. For a long time she has wanted a decent camera, something that could become a new hobby for her. We bought her a Canon T3i and it worked out that just as it was being delivered, she had gone out for dinner with her friend. She had no idea it was even under the tree until christmas morning, when she unwrapped it. Good surprise.

I'm already married over a year now to my second wife.  The wedding was on my birthday - I have NO excuses for forgetting the date...  :))  The irony is that I'm her second husband - she married her first on the same date.

This year the best gift that we gave was to one of our friends who is a huge fan of Frank Herbert's "Dune"
My wife knitted a 3 ft long mini maker (baby sand worm) for him.

The best gift I ever gave was to my mother.
My mother is a Nurse. She went to nursing school at Hahnemann in Philadelphia. Back in the day seniors in nursing school would be given a cape. You may have seen old pictures of young nurses wearing capes, these were student nurses doing their intern.
Anyway
This tradition eventually faded out in most school. The senior class right before my mothers was the last class to receive these capes. Needless to say my mother was rather disappointed and never forgot it.
So one year I spent the better part of six months hunting down a nursing cape. Some how I even managed to find one from Hahnemann. I gave it to her that Christmas. Needless to say there were a lot of happy tears that year.

Anyway
There you have it.
