Looks like a MPC layout- $10,000 goal. No pledge levels with more than 1 deck- they just keep adding on more crap the higher it goes.  WOW! Don't see this making funding. They even call it a novelty deck.

I hate to perpetuate negativity but I think that this is incredibly rude, someone put time and energy into creating something that they cared enough about to share with the public, whether it does well or not, and  even less importantly whether or not you like it doesn't matter; having an opinion doesn't entitle you to share it. I agree that the design isn't great, and the project seems to have a lot of things working against it, but I don't think that warrants you directly contacting the creator to be critical and antagonistic in a remotely passive aggressive way. It doesn't serve anyone and likely came off hurtful.

After reading through their campaign page I found that they they are sisters that opened up a boutique stationary shop in the memory of their mother after her tragic passing.

Victor, I may not like this deck one bit.  I may express that here, on a forum of deck collectors.  But to reach out to the people who created this deck and ask such an insulting question is beyond the pale in rudeness and poor manners.

"Hey, Victor, why do you even bother to make your deck videos?"  Sound pleasant to you?

I had nothing nice to say about the deck - so I said almost nothing about it.  You might consider doing the same.

So if I had a vision of blowing up puppies and kittens, would Kickstarter help me turn that into a reality? 


It's about taking a MARKETABLE vision and making it a reality.  It needn't be a million-dollar idea, especially as rare few projects actually crack the million-dollar mark, but it does have to be something that someone other than you and a handful of your friends and family want.  And it can't violate any applicable laws...

Not all ideas are good ideas. Just because you can open up a lawnmower repair/income taxes filed/ice cfeam parlor/pest control business, doesn't mean it's a good idea, and you'll probably have someone ask you if you have bumped your head recently. Sometimes its a saving grace to have someone help you see reality through the fog of grandiose dreams. Was it his job to be the one to do that? That's not my call. A KS project that is a massive fail (if it does fail, and if the pledge amount says horribly low like it most likely will) may be far more of an embarrassment than someone talking a person out of an idea before it snoballs to epic levels.
On top of the poor art, I think that the cards are tacky, but personally, I definitely wouldn't have made the effort to tell the creator. People will vote with their wallets.

As for Don's project...cat fur everywhere? Pass.

Welcome to the forum ATERG B.
Please don't take anything personally. We are a lot of hard core playing card enthusiast here. Your project may not be for most of us here, including myself, but its your project. I would never discourage anybody for trying to reach there dreams.
Just my opinion, but have you thought about just starting a project with the greeting cards/note cards? You could come in with a much lower goal. Right now the way your project is presented. Its a playing card project with some add-ons. It's being perceived that your charging $15 for a novelty deck, and throwing in a few extras. Just something to think about.
