Here are the rules of the game:
THE RULES OF THE MARIJUANA GAME
PLAYING THE GAME: The object of the game is collect as many buds as possible into your stash. At the end of the game whomever has the most bud points in their stash wins. Cards 2 through 9 of buds are worth 1 point each. The 4:20 of buds is also worth 1 point. Cards 10, J, Q, and K of buds are worth 3 points each. Ace of buds is worth 3 points. All other cards in your stash are worthless. All 54 cards are used in the game including the joker and the toker which have specific roles in the game.
DEALING THE CARDS. The game starts with the dealer (no pun intended) dealing each player a specific number of cards that the players keep on their hands. If there are TWO players, the dealer deals each player 10 cards on the first round, 10 more cards on the second round and 7 cards in the last round. If there are THREE players the dealer deals 9 cards to each player on the first round and 9 cards on the second round. If there are FOUR players, the dealer deals 7 cards on the first round and 6 cards on the second round with the last two cards of the deck not dealt discarded. If there are FIVE players, the dealer deals 5 cards in the first round, 5 cards in the second round and the last 4 cards of the deck discarded. If there are SIX players the dealer deals 5 cards to each player in the first round and 4 cards in the second round.
STAGES OF THE GAME. For each round there are several stages. The first stage is to plant the leaves in the garden. This means that each player sets each one of their leaf cards on the middle of the table face up EXCEPT THE 4:20 OF LEAFS. All 4 of the 4:20 cards are used as wild cards in a later stage. After every player set all of their leaves or plants on the table, the second stage is the budding stage. On this stage each player sets the buds on top of the respective number of the leaves. That is: the 2 of buds on top of the 2 of leafs, the King of buds on top of the King of leafs, etc.. However, if you have a bud with no corresponding leaf on the table, you can't set it on the table, so if you have the 3 of buds but there is no 3 of leafs on the table, you keep the 3 of buds in your hand. At the end of this stage some plants will have buds, and some will not. In the leaf and buds stages, there are no order of plays. Every player sets the respective cards in no particular order and everyone could be setting cards simultaneously at the leaf and budding stages. So after the budding stage we are ready for the harvest stage where each player is ready to collect the buds. The player with the least amount of cards in his hand goes FIRST, then the second person with the least amount of cards goes next each one taking one turn until there are no mo more plays. If there are ties in the number of cards then either flip a coin, throw a dice or do rock, paper scissors to break the tie and establish the order. In this stage in order to collect the buds and bring them to your stash you would need a bong or a joint of the same number of the leaf/bud pair on the table. If there is no buds for that number, you can't take the leaf alone into your stash, you need to take the pair. So if you have a 5 of bongs or a 5 of joints and there is a 5 of leafs with a 5 of buds on top of it, you can use your 5 of bongs to pick up the 5 leaf/bud pair into your stash with all three carsd face down. Likewise, if you have any one of the 4:20 cards, you can use it as a wild card to pick up whatever leaf/bud pair you want. So if there is an Ace of leafs with an Ace of buds on top of it on the garden, you can pick it up with either an Ace of bongs, an Ace of Joints or any one of the 4:20 cards. If you have NOTHING to play you pass. At this stage in your turn you can also use the Joker or the Toker cards.
THE JOKER CARD: The Joker card depicts a cop, so you can use the joker car to send this cop to any one of your opponent's stash and bust them. So you draw the joker card from your hand and show it to the opponent who you want to bust. You opponent shuffles his or her stash and you take one card at random from their stash (hopefully yo took away a bud). You then put the joker and the confiscated card into the discarded pile of cards and if the card was a bud, you took some points away from your opponent.
THE TOKER CARD: You can also play the Toker card. The Toker card depicts a stereotypical Rastafarian Toker. The Toker card works almost the same way as the joker card where you draw the toker and show it to your opponent. Your opponent shuffles his or her stash and you select one card at random (hopefully a bud) but instead of discarding it like you do with the joker, you take the toker card along with the card from your opponent's stash into YOUR stash. If you took a bud away from your opponent, you gave yourself a bud.
END OF STAGE: The stage ends when there are no more plays and all players pass. At this time all players put their cards into the discarded pile face up and all players examined the discarded cards. If a player finds a bud from an opponent that was not played in the bud stage when there was MATCHING leaf of the same number, this player can claim the bud to their stash. For example, if your opponent discarded a 2 of buds and there is an 2 of leafs on the garden, you can claim that bud, but if there is no 2 of leafs on the garden, the bud gets discarded with the rest of the cards. If an opponent discards a leaf other than the 4:20 of leafs, you can call him or her on it for not playing such leaf and take away his or her ENTIRE stash.
ENDING THE GAME: After all the cards of the stage are played or discarded a new round is dealt. Some leafs and leaf/bud pairs may remain on the table unclaimed or unused from the previous round. Leave them there. They may be picked up on the next round. You deal the cards again for round two and repeat the stages and the rounds until the game is over.
WINNING THE GAME: When there are no more cards to deal each player counts their bud points and whomever has the most points according to the buds point system wins the game.
