Well there are a couple real nice distressed decks still available in the marketplace that have 2 way backs on them, standard faces and courts and ARE printed at USPC.

........I do like the Joker illistration  :)

These decks are one step away from ZAZZLE decks, for cryin' out loud!!

It's pretty clear that USPC isn't making it.  For one, the boxes are being printed on "ZANTA BOARD" - whatever the hell that is.  At least we know it's 395 micrometers thick!  Woo AND hoo!

Not to mention that the deck has CARTAMUNDI JOKERS in it...

Seriously, take away the aging effect and each one of these is a cross between a European 4-index deck and a pack of Congress cards!  It's laughable.  This deck could have been designed in less than an afternoon - including the lunch break!  I would wager that the backs are clip art or some other appropriated art work - they look too much like something off of a greeting card.

Wouldn't touch this deck project without wearing a haz-mat suit in a negative-pressure environment with a waldo device...

WILL SOMEONE ON KICKSTARTER BESIDES THE DESIGNERS THAT HANG OUT HERE COME UP WITH AN ORIGINAL IDEA, PLEASE?!?!?

I'm more pissed off about that AoS.

BOOOOO

And I know for sure the piano one is clip art, or at least public domain. My Chinese counterpart had a smartphone case with the exact same design.

I'm a musician, but I don't even like the back of the first design.

Looks like a bootleg Ellusionist Vintage 1800 fade throughout the whole thing.
Broke for cards

DAMN IT- I knew that Ace looked too familiar!!!

There's only one way I'd ever touch a project like this - with a rocket-propelled grenade, from the safe side of a bunker!!

EDIT: I was just in touch with Bill Schildman from USPC.  Here's a quote from his reply:

Good to hear from you. We will certainly look into this project. We still fight the fight on counterfeit every day and your help was appreciated in NYC.

So I wouldn't count on this project making it to completion.

Not exactly a surprise there.  I wonder if Cartamundi went after them for the jokers as well?

This project is one big, fat red flag.  They were offering four back designs at first, with a standard face design.  Now they have standard and custom faces for each deck, as well as one-way and two-way back options.  That's SIXTEEN DIFFERENT DECK DESIGNS ON A FIVE-THOUSAND DOLLAR BUDGET!  Not even Jackson Robinson was so ambitious, and he worked on a six-figure budget!  This went from bad to radioactive...

I wonder how that effects the 20 Backers who pledged for the EB Complete set?

Never heard of Zanta Board but it is what the DMC Sharks playing cards state as their box stock.
I like to call paper coatings a finish. It makes Don happy.

They specify in the EB that it's for four decks - so "complete" isn't as complete as it used to be...

It's like when I bought "Terminator 2 - Judgment Day" in the "Ultimate Edition DVD" package.  Under a year later, there's the "Platinum Edition" being released - was "Ultimate" simply not enough?  :))
