The early bird is cool, the cards...not so much.

Don't really like the fake 3d since this is suppose to be 8 bit.

Also, looking at the court cards I just feel like it was super lazy, it looks like he made the jack and then just added a mustache by adding a few black pixels and was like "look a king!" or just add some more black pixels to the hair and was like "look a queen!"  I love pixel art, I have dabbled often in pixel art, and this is not pixel art.

This is like the twelve gazillionth 8Bit deck on kickstarter. I think the number runs just under steampunk and cthulhu and just above zombies.
Yet they take a lot less effort... (ok to be fair I have seen some steam punk and zombie decks that have taken no effort)

I have to say this is not even the best of them.
Something seemed off with the cards
At first I thought it was the dull color scheme . But then when Shebhnt (that is a fun screen name to say out loud) mentioned the 3D affect, I knew he hit in something.
It is off putting since the images should be 2D the third dimension is just a thick line (not to be confused with the 5th Dimension , which was a Motown, R&B group)

I'm really not feeling this deck at all.  Poor example of an oversaturated theme.  Fake 3-D was a bad idea.  The back looks awful.  I could imagine this deck being whipped together in a weekend - there doesn't seem to be a lot of effort here.  If they did spend a lot of effort on this, they're doing something wrong.

Those backs are just dreadful. Looks like the kind of deck you'd pick up for $0.50 at the dollar store.

He wants $15 for a single deck?  ???
That's $15 I just saved. Thank you 8drib for saving me money.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

I also just noticed that it's a USPCC deck, but the funding goal is only $8,000.

Meh.. the only reason to go 8bit in my mind is if one was going to honor the old Commodore-Amiga games.
I like to call paper coatings a finish. It makes Don happy.

Well, there are those who like early Nintendo 8-bit, as from the NES and GB/GBC.  I used to have one of those mini-cases with the pluck-out foam that carried my GBC and all the carts and wires.  Eventually switched it over to hold a GBA, then gave the whole lot to my nephew who was weaned on a NES controller.
