Something I started working on a long time ago and may end up coming back to for this contest. Thoughts?
It reminds me of a car logo. Are you entering this into the contest?
Yup, I was thinking of entering it! And I'm not sure how to take that haha
Take it well. Most car logos are created with a near-scientific precision in order to evoke the proper mood for the brand.
I like the shade of green you used. The design is interesting. What is it?
Thanks original name was "the Anarchy deck" but I might change it.
It's got an "A" in a curve - and that's where the similarity to anarchy ends! I could see you making a deck themed to look like a promotional giveaway for some fictional 1960s car brand! You could have a lot of fun playing with that idea.
If you opt to make this for the contest, add this tag to the beginning of your title: (DDDC).
Well in that case thanks! And yes, it doesn't actually have much to do with anarchy aside from the "A" haha. My original idea from a few years ago was to create a deck where each court card featured a different theme or gimmick relating to anarchy (so lots of guns and weapons and whatnot; the idea doesn't appeal to me so much anymore). I created this back design using my limited skills and although I am proud of what I accomplished, I agree that it doesn't give off a very anarchic feel.
Semi-related note/question: Don, you compared this design to the "near-scientific precision" of a car logo (which is a huge compliment, thank you). However, in terms of making everything perfectly
symmetrical, I am sort of lost... I created this design in Photoshop and looking back on it, I probably should have used Illustrator because now I am finding it difficult to make everything symmetrical (especially with all the different layers - it makes things confusing). To show what I mean, I flattened the image to a jpeg, copied the design, made it translucent and rotated it 180 degrees on itself; as you can see, some parts line up (such as the small green circles near the center) but most of the other geometry is slightly off. Anyone who is good at graphic design - what is the best way to fix this? Any help or tips would be much appreciated!
