Hello there, everyone.

I got into this whole playing cards thing probably half a year back when a friend was showing me a simple magic trick and I got really intrigued as to how a little pack of cards could be so wonderfully-designed.

Looking forward to hanging out around here!

:)

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!

I have about an odd 20+ decks only so far. Starting slow and trying to keep one deck of whatever is common out there right now first. :)

I'm a huge fan of circles/insignias. Something like the Origins or Mana playing cards on Kickstarter.

I have been trying to learn magic and cardistry as well which my extremely dry hands seems to be very much against. But I'm definitely enjoying myself, nonetheless.

There are a few moisturizers on the market specifically made for card people - conditions the skin without leaving a greasy layer on the skin.  I know dananddave.com carries one, their own brand.  It's not cheap, but it is good and has a pleasant, mild coffee smell.

Hey Don,

I do use DnD hand lotion!  :) Except I'm using the Pine edition, not the coffee one. My only gripe is that I don't carry it around. I do carry a pack of cards around since it's convenient to just slot it in the back pocket of my pants, but it just doesn't make sense to bring around a huge bottle of lotion for me.  :-[

That being said, I use it when I'm at home and desperately want to get some practice in when my hands are extremely dry.

You do know there's nothing stopping you from transferring some of the lotion to a more portable container, right?  Most drug stores have little empty travel-sized squeeze bottles for whatever people like to travel with...  :))

I do know!  :)

Only problem is I'm trying to find a more stylish and flat container, but no luck so far... And then getting it to match the brown that my wallet, coin pouch and custom DnD leather card clip shares.  :D

Quite the fashion aficionado, are we?  :))

I actually found a container that might fit the bill, except it's not color-coordinated.  It's a flat, square-shaped mouthwash bottle that only holds a few ounces - Duane Reade pharmacies carried it, though under the new Walgreens ownership that might no longer be the case.
