I understand; it's a simple matter of preference. I like the QR code design, and you don't. Although I can see where you're coming from. They're not the most aesthetically pleasing design to use for a deck of cards, for sure.

I think this deck looks better than a lot of other designs. It's different, new, and refreshing. Sure, some people aren't going to like it. It's all about taste, and people will have different opinions on the deck, but I think it's one of the better releases this season

I totally agree. It gives it a nice, modern twist. Definitely one of my favourite designs this season.

Already bought one of these on their site last Friday and apparently it has shipped out although it did cost like $26 or whatever it was.

On a side note I see they are just beginning to ship out the Fulton Clip Joint cards, don't know why they bothered to sell those weeks ago when they only got them like today. I guess they just had to get in on the Black Friday Frenzy!

I finally received my Variety box V4! :)

So while I will not open this deck until we have more information on availability, I just took some pictures of the box and I scanned the QR codes :)

Front : http://i.imgur.com/4VB9y.jpg
The front has a design that looks like QR codes but is not.

Back : http://i.imgur.com/wqJpH.jpg
The back has 2 sets of QR codes.

The top has 3 different codes : They read 'Henri et Jacques' , 'Le 16 Février 2011'  and 'un jeu peut en cacher un autre !' that last phrase translates to 'A game can hide another'

The bottom 3 QR codes read : 'Tungstene' , 'Positiver, insister, réussir' which I would translates to 'Seeing the bright side (It's the closest I could think for "Positiver"...), Insist, succeed' and 'Jacoto et Riton' Which I would guess are nicknames for Henri and Jacques...

Bottom : http://i.imgur.com/XCxst.jpg
Now on the bottom we see a single QR code which reads 'Un jeu peut en cacher un autre !' once again.
The text next to the QR codes translates to :
Tungstene, it's the link.
Jaques & Henri, the creators.
The light is the idea.

Once we have more information on availability and pricing, I might open this deck and order a few more. If that happens I'll post more pictures and I'll try to scan all the QR codes and translate them for you :)

Now that is a deck that sticks out from the crowd. Although I don't like the fact of putting QR codes on the back of the deck, I like the creativity. Also, I like the involvement this deck has to do with technology. I believe this is one of the first decks that have ever done that. Amazing effort guys! Looking forward to see the release.

The release was leaked. They should have an actual release, but I'm not sure if the price will change from the crazy $26 it was before. Hope that answered your question loldude :)

I don't think the price would change.
But I hope it to change. If it's cheap I'm gonna buy 1-2 decks.

I really hope this deck isnt going to cost 26 dollars as ive heard from other ppl. I'd like to pick up a few of them cause i love the crazy design of the pips..... Plus at the same time i wanna pick up an indestructible erdnase

$26 would be rather hubristic.  The Indestructible Erdnase is a fantastic buy.

Well the week is over half way through and no new news about this deck yet...

I'm really really curious what's up with this one. D&D did say that they would have an actual release this week. I'll be waiting haha

I think the pictures have persuaded me to buy a deck. Although, I'll hold off for a while. I'm not too desperate to get hold of a deck immediately.

Yeah that makes sense with all the new decks coming out. I'm expecting this one to be a limited release (almost every deck is now-a-days) so I'm sure I'll pick some up when they release... if they release haha

The deck is IN RELEASE NOW - I just ordered two.  It's not cheap: $19.95 a pack.  Still cheaper than originally thought, but not cheap by any means.  For some frakkin' godsforsaken reason, they decided to bury the order page for these decks on their site without including them in the "playing cards" list.  They could have been up there for days.

Turns out that these decks were a private order for a couple of graphic artists from the south of France, Jacques Denain and Henri de Saint Julien.  No apparent connection to magic or cardistry - it just looks like they decided to make a unique-looking deck of cards...  Only a small, limited number are up for sale, according to D&D.

Try this link - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, it's really bizarre:
http://shop.dananddave.com/tungstene.html

If that fails, just do a site-wide search for "tungstene" - the only two hits you'll get will be the VBv4 and this deck.  Even if you don't want to order them at that price, the page does have some new photos of the cards that I haven't seen around yet.

I picked up 2 too.
I just wanted one but shipping for 1 deck is $10.5, for 2 decks is $11.
So, I gotta choose 2 decks instead.
My credit card can't handle payments anymore. T-T

I think $20 per deck from a company like Dan and Dave is insulting.

I would also feel the same way if T11, E, or any other major card distributor did this.

I will not be purchasing this deck, or any others from Dan and Dave is they continue down this path.

I agree with you.
But I have no choice, if I want the decks. I have to buy from them.
