Huh? They say "we need to spend lots of money" so why is the goal only 2K?

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

The font they used for all that text is horrible - it's not easy to read quickly.  I don't have a lot of confidence in their design chops.

The pricing isn't so bad...except that I've never heard of "European Playing Card Company".  We could be looking at dollar-store decks selling for about $10 each.

I've seen this art before.  Someone else posted it somewhere here previously, probably in the Design/Dev board, something about a project that was in the works or something.  But that was many months ago...  Either that or someone used the same font on the Ace of Spades for their deck that these guys used.

1. European Playing Card Company - it is not a specific name. We are currently deciding which company will print these. This depends on quantities
2. 2k is only a part of money, which we are planning to receive on Kickstarter. But this sum will be enough to print QUALITY cards, not souvenir-like ones!

Welcome to the Discourse.

If I may offer a suggestion, I recommend being completely and utterly transparent about what company you're using to print, what funds are needed, what funds are being put up on your end, etc.  If you were a company looking for investors on Wall Street, they'd expect no less, and seemingly vague statements don't help your case when asking people to open their wallets.

And please make your home page EASIER TO READ!  Use a font and layout that's easier on the eyes.

It's ba-ack.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/891191024/demon-deck-limited-edition-playing-cards

Same bad grammar, same deck.  He calls it a relaunch, but then he says "This project is relaunch of our previous project just to let backers to grab some add-ons that they missed and to get some new backers."

Funding goal is $100. 7 days. Not a typo. Estimated delivery is still August.

Pledge levels are confusing:
  • Pledge $1 or more - ADD-ONS. This revard is for add-ons. Type ammount of add-ons that you selected. Worldwide shipping is included
  • Pledge $11 or more - FOR NEW BACKERS. 1x Standard Edition "Demon Deck" playing cards deck. Add $11/14 for each additional S.E./L.E. deck. International buyers please add $2 for shipping
  • Pledge $11 or more - FOR PREVIOUS PROJECT BACKERS. 1x Standard Edition "Demon Deck" playing cards deck. Add $11/14 for each additional S.E./L.E. deck. Worldwide shipping is included
  • Pledge $14 or more - FOR ALL BACKERS. 1x Limited Edition "Demon Deck" playing cards deck. Add $14/11 for each additional L.E./S.E. deck. Worldwide shipping is included
Here is the rest of the Risks section.  Looks like he was writing directly to Don:
  • All possible risks were taken highly serious. Everything - from technical moments and design, to production time and shipping - checked twice. Production and shipping costs are precisely calculated and included in the project goal.
  • Drawing of special hand-inked deck can take some more time, so you may receive your deck a bit later, but we'll do our best to get your deck on time.
  • We guarantee, that these playing cards will be factory-printed with highest quality and shipped to you on time.

I'm flabbergasted.  There are many bizarre and contradicting statements throughout.  I would not touch this project if it was the last human female in the universe and had a perfect figure with brains to match.

He guarantees on-time delivery only one sentence after stating that "you may receive your deck a little later."  If that doesn't raise red flags for you, nothing will.  It's a shame, because the artwork isn't bad, really.

Pretend for a moment that he had four backers, each wanting one standard and one limited deck.  That right there is his goal.  Do you know of a single printer anywhere that will grant you a print run of FOUR DECKS EACH IN TWO DESIGNS for LESS than what he's collecting on the reward tiers?  Even if you cast aside the limited edition altogether, you're still looking at $110 for a run of ten decks.  Printed AND shipped.

I really think there's a good chance this guy's going to lose money on this project or simply fail to deliver.
