Yeah everyone is going to pledge for $1 and $2 decks and that's it, I doubt this one will get funded. It will probably make most people dizzy just looking at the pics, made me dizzy, lol. Should be a warning on the page for epileptics!

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
Not really.  Soleil Zumbrunn is making an art project.  Don't think for a moment that these are for poker or solitaire, or that you'll be asking someone to "pick a card, any card" with this deck, especially at fifteen dollars a deck.  Given those parameters, the artwork doesn't have to utilize practical design features for a pack of cards at all.

But if she IS actually trying to make a functional pack of cards, however, then this is one hot, wet mess.

Consider that impractical designs also sell.  Look at the Bicycle Irregular deck.  Same idea, different means of getting there - "die cut error" instead of "video glitches".

She's gonna lose some serious money on those pledges, especially if most people pledge just a buck.

OK you got me.
I had to check my eyes to make sure I didn't lose a contact  ???

All kidding aside. It really did hurt my eyes looking at it. Victor has a point about epileptics.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Well, i would say the design of this deck would be considered successful based on comments here of how it should not be used for poker and such. It is a "glitched" deck after all. I would imagine an uncut would look quite cool for this deck.

Actually, as a deck of cards, it's a nightmare.  As an art project, it's successful.

Won't pay $15 when others paid $1.

It's clear that the creator is art-oriented and not business-oriented.

Try putting this work in the context of her other work.

  • I like birds.

  • Kickstarter:
I would definitely back it if it had a riderback design. It makes a killer gaff deck.

Too bad USPCC doesn't allow it.

As long as she puts the Bicycle brand name on the deck, she could request the Rider Back design - but it could not be altered in any way.  Glitched faces, standard backs.
