 Flesh & Bones

No mention of already being made. $12 earlybird/ $15 regular + shipping

Quote
Flesh & Bones is a completely custom, hand illustrated deck of playing cards, designed in London by Dual Originals.

Quote
Each card has been rigorously designed to create a unique deck that combines digital precision with illustrative flair. As this is our debut deck of cards, we went the extra mile to create something that is really special.

The court cards feature detailed, hand-drawn illustrations based on mythical creatures like the Kraken and a Nymph, and ancient gods, such as Triton and Medusa.

This one I actually like, and it's got a much better price tag.  It's minimal and artistic all at once.

Hey, Victor kicked in for some!  Though not as much as Dan and Dave did.  :))

Yeah, there's a subtle but important difference between openness and invasiveness.

I have not used deckstarter yet - Does one opt in/out for this display? There is 'anonymous' there... is this openly known and easy an option to choose. I do understand the appeal if people openly show their support - and it is interesting see average/mean investments which people choose to undertake in decks.

Is there an option to add a second deck to the $12 early bird?

What if I do not want my name used along with my pledge amount? I don't mind having my name used-showing support, but it's nobody's business what my pledge amount is.

DS reply

Like Kickstarter, you can add in your own amount and email us, letting us know you want two decks.

there is checkbox on the checkout page to hide your name from showing up.

Cheers!

So I got an email that there's four days left in this deck's campaign.

I perused the backer list.

A few names appear more than once - eager backers?

The Art of Play backed for $2,500 - in other words, Dan and Dave increased their backing by $2,500.

It's still over $2,700 short of goal, and we're heading into a holiday weekend.  I wonder if there will be a big surge in backing at the last minute?  I wonder who will be providing that boost?

I actually do like this deck - wish they had a two-deck pledge, 'cause I'd be in for that.

Also when you cancelled your pledge, your name still shows up in the pledge section. My name was there until the project ended even though I cancelled out the second day

I know D&D did this to compete with KSTR but what do you think.... would this deck have been funded by now if it had launched on KICKSTARTER as opposed to Deckstarter?

I vote yes. Kickstarter increases a projects visibility.  The site makes it easy to ask questions and talk to other backers.  Then there is the search indexing  which makes discovery a whole lot easier. A person searching a general topic doesn't have to be searching for "playing cards" to stumble on a project. This adds backers who don't keep their ear to the ground about cards but just searched the general theme. And makes it easy for bloggers and sites to feature the project to their audience.

I have no doubts that it would have funded on KS, and much sooner.

??? D&D going to go broke if they keep funding there own projects. I guess it's like any other release from them. They will sell them on Art Of Play eventually for a profit.
