Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

It's not a bad deck, but Fabien Defaucheux is claiming this as his own unique design.  It's really just a reprinting of a very old French deck in the Parisian style using a new color palette.  He designed the back, but it's primarily just a stylized "F".

That's not to say it's a terrible deck - just that the designer is overreaching in his claim.

One major problem is the pricing.  A single deck with shipping outside of France is €13.  For two decks, it's €20.  At the current exchange rate, €13 is US$17.58, €20 is US$27.05.  This applies to ANYONE outside of France, even other countries in the EU/Europe.

The other major problem: if you consider that the indices are in French, it has strong appeal only to Francophones and French-speaking countries.  Americans are terribly stubborn about what they think a playing card deck should have in it!  :))

Now you're dealing with the EXACT issue us internationals deal with!  In fact, $13.50 each for 2 decks shipped is just about what I pay for a KS deck these days, and I don't back quite a lot of campaigns because the costs are even higher for many projects.

Well, unless you're living in France, you're STILL dealing with it with this deck!  :))

It doesn't bother me - the deck, while nice, isn't really my cup of tea.
