That looks pretty cool. It's a nice continuation of the series and that tuckcase is pretty sweet looking.

These look really nice. It makes me wish there was never a No. 2. Or don't put No. 3 on the tuck box at all and let this stand on its own. A much better representation of the Mana brand/series.

@ Sparkz:

Some great info about the project. Got my juices going... BUT... Anytime you start a new thread always consider the discourse golden question for forum protocol.

why, why EPCC :(

I'm not Erik, but I've got a feeling there's a quite a few reasons. The first obvious one I can think of is the custom tuckcase. I'm not sure if that's possible with USPCC or the potential cost of it. I believe the custom tucks that have USPCC decks recently (Independence LTD, D&D Private Reserve[?], etc) have to be sourced out elsewhere so that one had to co-ordinate the deck printing and tuck printing/manufacturing. I'm sure it'd be easier if one factory could do it all. And the vertical cigarette inspired tuckcase for the Mana decks do look really nice.

I've found that EPCC tends to be better for registration for thinner borders from the decks I've purchased. More consistent when you riffle shuffle them that it's harder to notice.

I'm curious to see which court card set Erik will use to go with the Sybil decks, but it's look really great.

Why not?
Their decks are fantastic quality-wise, and they have better options as far as customization goes.

I can't wait to see the jokers and court cards!

Kardifiy on Facebook - Update:

Hey everyone, like any project things get tweaked and updated. Sybil is no different, here are the updated color variations from Erik Mana. Platinum Reserve will be silver, Gold Reserve is self explanatory and "Sybil Livida" will be a Grey-Blue Metallic ink.

I bought the LPCC Gnostic decks. The blue deck has horrible registration in the long dimension. The gold deck has not so good registration in the short direction. Perhaps my decks are an anomaly, but even though I like the art I won't be buying the red version when it becomes available.

How did the Hive decks turn out registration-wise? Can you post some pics?

edit: sorry to hijack the topic. Brendan responded nicely on the Hive thread.

I'm really looking forward to this campaign!

I backed Eriks's campaign for the Zinfenfel and Indigo decks... but the shoddy USPCC quality really didn't do any justice to the design -- the decks I received had the worst case of off-centred cutting I've ever seen. I wasn't too fond of the magic finish either.

This one however, looks like a superior product in terms of both design and quality of materials. I prefer LPCC... but EPCC is my next preferred option, therefore I'm happy.

Those platinum and gold reserve decks are probably going to go fast!
With this signature I'm following the example set by Fes: There is only ONE letter L in my display name. "Holly" is a female name... and I'm a bearded guy who's into weightlifting. There's nothing feminine about me brother!

If the court's theme is consistent, this should be a fantastic deck. Combining the faces of the old French courts with the body style of modern standards works better than I would have thought.

Just about 15 more hours
Mana #3 at 3pm est. on KS

A little excerpt from Kardify's 7 questions on how the name Sybil came about

Quote
Anyone who knows me, knows that 3 is my lucky number. So I loved the fact that I could literally call the third deck of my series No.3. BUT! No.3 does have a real name and her name is SYBIL.

"Sybil" to cardists (especially) and to magicians and even to some collectors is known as a flourish move that has become one of the fundamental techniques to cardistry. I even created my own version of the flourish called the Oracle cut which you can see on the Oracle Joker. When I created the Oracle, there was a lot of double meaning behind the deck and one of that was the Oracle name. Because back in ancient times an Oracle was also known as Sybil.

So No.3, Sybil, is actually in honor of the original Oracle. Sybils were known to be prophetess and were always sought out for divine advice and playing cards have been the device for divination and magic for centuries so naturally Sybil was the perfect name for the deck.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.
